Alpha Flight #9 Apr 1998
North & South
Alpha Flight takes on Wolverine in order to bring him to justice for the murder of Madison Jefferies;
During the fight, Heather notices that Wolverine doesn't have adamantium bones anymore;
Since they were supposedly tracking him by his adamantium, this doesn't make sense;
When Wolverine is joined by Rogue, Cannonball, Maggott and Storm, Alpha Flight begins to doubt their orders;
After learning that Wolverine was in jail during the time Department H told them he killed Jefferies, Alpha Flight heads "home" to confront General Clarke.
Script by Steve Seagle, pencils by Roger Cruz, inks by Chris Carlson
Artwise, I think this was one of the best issues of this volume of Alpha Flight (there was another by Brian Hitch, and an annual by Tom Raney that were also a strong contenders). I'm not that much of a fan of Roger Cruz (especially of his work around the time of Age of Apocalypse, in which he used to ape a lot Joe Madureira), but they really think Marvel should have given him the book.
Peace
Here's some more Alpha Flight art I commission.
I think the Purple Girl may have a point given how she and her other teammates turn out. (cute pic though)

Alpha Flight #10 May 1998
Small Sacrifices
Alpha Flight confronts General Clark but he gives them a somewhat convoluted but plausible response;
Later Heather is contacted by someone within the department;
She goes to meet Dr Haddock who confirms Heather's suspicions about what's being done to the Alphans;
The rest of the team show up chased by Epsilon Guards;
Dr Haddock hides the Alphans by sending them into the Prometheus Pit and into the microverse; Here they meet Baron Zebek and witness his tyranny;
On their way to save Manbot, who's been taken to the body banks, they meet up with the Micronauts.
Script by Steve Seagle, pencils by Anthony Winn, inks by Aaron Sowd
I'd like to see Alpha Flight move into getting a solo series again.

Here a Commission of the Alpha Flight foe known as The Dreamqueen.
Looks like they're disbanded (possibly due to Infinity Wars? The Champions appearance is definitely set before that because an Infinity Countdown tie-in was next up for the teens). Sasquatch is appearing in Immortal Hulk, apparently on a sabbatical, while Carol's been absent for nine months as well in Life of Captain Marvel.
Appreciation Thread Indexes
Marvel | Spider-Man | X-Men | NEW!! DC Comics | Batman | Superman | Wonder Woman
That DreamQueen was amazing. During a rough time of Alpha Flight's run, she was an amazing character, that I wish would see way more usage. She's got so much potential, and just the right look.
Is it mentioned somewhere about their disbandment? Damn Marvel, just give us Alpha Flight - a good Alpha Flight, again!

Oh man, i have such a long history with that team.
When i was a kid during the 80's there was that magazine in France called "Strange" in which you could find many different Marvel's stories of the time.
Iron Man, X-men, Spider-Man and, topic at hand, Alpha Flight stories.
Loved that stuff. That very old french magazine made me a fan of that team lol.
Funny, I never post here. Talisman is one of my favorite characters.
Some of us wait, some of us act.
