I thought it was cheesy(well, cheesier then star wars usually is) and lame.
Also put me down as cringing when I saw this lameness. It would be the low moment in Marvel's Star Wars series to me. And the most awesome scene by far was when the Alliance officials are all fretting over Luke being captured on Nar Shadda and saying even if they were willing to risk a rescue mission who would be crazy enough to do it. Followed by the beautiful reveal page on the other side with Chewbacca roaring with hand raised.
The scene made me really wish this wasn't canon. It was completely lame and devalued lightsabers.
Point of order: technically, Han used a lightsaber in The Empire Strikes Back. In fact, to my knowledge, Han was the only non-Force user to use a lightsaber in all six films.
Edit: Oh, and Grievous.
This is exactly the sort of thing this series needed. I love the serious moments and the philosophies in Star Wars, but sometimes you need fun for the sake of having fun.
Probably won't be the last time we've seen a non-Jedi use a lightsaber...
(quietly walks away)
"Ignore them. They're nothing but a bunch of basement dwellers who spend all day whining on the 'net. Not a single open-minded one in the bunch."
--Andre Briggs, Justice League International #1
In a pinch, it's a cool moment. I wouldn't want them wielding lightsabers on a regular basis, though, or with any notable skill beyond swing-and-pray.
neat. This is why an animated series based on the original cast needed to have been done, years ago.
"I'd settle for a good blaster" is such a Han thing to say.
