    Default Your favorite DC Artists

There are a lot of great artists that have worked for DC over the years (even exclusively). I think this would be a great opportunity for folks to share some of their favorites. Feel free to posts images obviously since this relates to comic art.

Personally I think my favorite comic artist of all time (and this was tough) is Jose Luis Garcia Lopez. Strange, to me he's like one of the biggest names DC has ever had, yet a lot of people still don't know about him. If you've seen some part of licensed product for DC in a store, in someone's house, on the street, or on a car...chances are Jose Luis Garcia Lopez illustrated it. His style always seemed so flawless in a lot of ways to me. I'm training to be a comic penciler and hopefully one day I can work professionally for either of the big two. Jose Luis Garcia Lopez has probably been the number one inspiration for me the last few years. Maybe I can get a critique from him one day. Some of his work in the samples below:

I always loved the style guides that he helped produce for the company too.

I just wish he did more interior work. Alas, he is/was a busy guy.

this is glorious! the clear purpose and momentum of every motion and wonderful control over facial expressions and above all the clarity oflinework that would make any colorist today wet their pants!

Doug Mahnke has been my favorite at DC ever since I saw his work on Under the Hood.

Garcia Lopez will always be DC for me. Fantastic artist!
Nowadays, I guess Reis is the Top Dog at DC for me, but there are others I enjoy such as Mahnke, Manapul, Bennet, Pelletier, Capulo and others.

    Peace

So many great artists. Some of my favorites include:

    Jose Luis Garcia Lopez
    Neal Adams
    Curt Swan
    Greg Capullo
    Francis Manapul
    Ivan Reis
    Alex Ross

It was Garcia Lopez and Adams who really got me into comics as a kid. Their art is staggeringly brilliant. I could still spend hours just browsing through their work with a huge smile on my face.

I don't really care about creators that much but Jim Lee is pretty awesome. I always get Jim Lee stuff even if it is extra covers that he does. The man is just a genius.

All in all I feel the DC art is quite boring and not very creative. They almost have a house-style now. Early when 52 launched they had some creative artists, Miguel Sepulveda, Sami Basri, Alberto Ponticelli, Kano, Travel Foreman and Butch Guice, but they seemed to change to more standard style now.
