I meant although obviously not every studio is throwing money at every "mumblecore" director, indie guys doing big mainstream flicks is not that usual.

Then you have some indie directors who get the opportunity to do a major Hollywood flick and they pass on it.

The thing they're specifically pointing to in that article, the thing with Colin Trevorrow, that doesn't happen much. But Elizabeth Banks just jumped into directing and now she's rebooting Charlie's Angels.
