If its various realities in the current multiverse, which I have absolutely no reason to think its not going to be, then we can still continue to rule out any return of the old DCU, or elements of it.

As always the best you few have to hope for is that a new world in the multiverse might bear some resemblance to clutter-Earth.

This does not sound like my sort of thing, but here's hoping it's an opportunity to get some new, more sophisticated voices a shot at DC. Marie Javins has a decent track record of such talent, but the names mentioned thus far don't really back up that promise.

For an anniversary event, probably need to feature various versions from the long publishing history. For Flash, maybe will see pre-coie Jay Garrick and pre Flashpoint Wally West Flash.

This supposed "love letter" needs to begin with an apology for the New 52.

Things the New 52 did more of less right:

    - Superman
    - Wonder Woman
    - Aquaman
    - Animal Man
    - Swamp Thing
    - Cyborg
    - Earth 2
    - Flash
    - Harley Quinn
    - Frankenstein
    - The Justice Leagues (save the main one)

Things that are not better or worse:

    - Batman (even with the 5 year timeline he is still amazing)
    - Green Lantern Line (the whole kit and caboodle)
    - Green Arrow (very different interpretation but very good none the less)

Things the New 52 did not do so well:

    - The main Justice League
    - Nightwing
    - Red Robin
    - Teen Titans
    - Blue Bettle
    - Legion of Super Heroes
    - All of Wildstorm (sans Grifter, thanks to Future's End)
    - Legacy heroes and sidekicks

What I am hoping for is a way to take the best of all the different iterations of the DC Universe (from all the eras of comics, alternate realities, video games, TV, etc.) and create a more cohesive and compelling narrative for the post-April Crisis universe. I doubt this will happen. Rather they will take the worst parts of the universe, slough them off and try again (which is not a terrible direction to go in, especially if they get the right creative team on the restarted parts of the DCU).

I'd prefer a mocking jab at the constant complainers.

I can't imagine DC returning to the pre-52 universe, but I wonder if the sales are much better since 52 started.

Oh goodness, maybe Tim will meet Pre-52 Tim, Steph and Cass than see how much of the short end of the stick he has gotten in his own universe!

Oh and the Multiverse is better... at least what we have seen of it thus far.

Whenever another reboot comes the pike, you can be assured it won't be the original pre-COIE universe, the DCU, or the DCnU.

I prefer getting rid of the actual magement, didio, harras...No matter what DC universe we have, they will find a way to destroy it.

superman hardly improved. New 52 hardly improved anything. Batbooks got better, harley quinn, batman, detective are really good.

2007 was an abnormally high year, most likely due to the weekly 52 series, which was very popular.
