Default Alias Investigations - Jessica Jones Appreciation

I searched and there didn't seem to be an appreciation thread anywhere for this character and given the recent Netflix series, why not?

Jessica Jones was created by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Gaydos who first appeared in her own ongoing entitled Alias (nothing to do with the ABC show but surprisingly, no lawsuit was started) and is a former superhero turned private eye. She has various connections with the various Marvel superheroes to the point of marrying Luke Cage and giving birth to Danielle Cage. In any case, this character has been beloved by comic book fans since her first appearance and has gained further popularity thanks to the Netflix series, which you should all be watching by now.

So yeah, feel free to discuss the character.

In the trades, JJ's first person POV is the classic hard-boiled detective voice. I grew up reading Raymond Chandler, Ross MacDonald, and Robert B. Parker, so I'm a huge admirer of that style.

Of course the recent Marvel 101 series of videos just recently did this.

Are the Alias comics canon? Or just the parts of Alias that are referenced?

I guess is totally canon, since no one ever said otherwise?

The Alias comics are canon with the Marvel universe. They just happened to have their own story separate from the usual going ons.

Glad Jessica has her own appreciation thread now. I finished watching the series within 48 hours of its release, and it is AMAZING! Loved Jessica ever since I first read Alias, so I'm definitely glad she has ascended!
