Cool. I think the warm reception of the Wonder Woman movie by LGBT fandoms and circles and the Honor Award has motivated DC to be more inclusive in terms of representation across all platforms.
A question.
Do you all think it would be beneficial for there to be for example, a trans power fantasy character in the same way that Black Panther and Wonder Woman are black and female power fantasy characters respectively. I don't mean a superhero who is queer or even a superhero for whom being queer is a major part of their identity. I mean something along the lines of T'Challa and Diana where that is the case and then some. E.g. they both come from remote nations with unique cultures, where literally everyone is black/female and in almost every way their are more advanced than other real world nations (e.g. Purple healing ray, vibranium, etc). For both characters their whole mythos is wrapped up in layers of them being black/female to the point where you could argue subtextually there is this idea that being black/female is where they draw their power from.
Both characters were if not the first black/female superheroes then highly influential ones that opened the door to more black and female heroes later on.
With this in mind could it be an idea to try that out with a trans, gay, bi, etc character? It might be a bit tricky because you could very easily fall into the Hollywood stereotype of the magic gay character though, so I dunno.
Just a thought.
Hope you don't mind commissioned this at NYCC 2017 from Luciano Vecchio who also drew the Wonderboy story that went around earlier.
Since I'm fan of both Ya'wara and Icemaiden and Luciano drew the two alongside one another in his little fan story I had the idea of getting the two together.

Yep, definitely interested in seeing what comes of this.
And I'm hoping she's both
A) not white washed
B) Not just straight (as her sexuality has never been made explicit)
But I suppose we'll see. As others have pointed out unlike many of the other characters she doesn't really have much story to mine for a show but that's only a minor stumbling block overall since the magic worlds of DC are still pretty extensive and that's a perfectly fine place to grow on.

Chantal Thuy (Madame Secretary, Pretty Little Liars) has been cast as Grace Choi on Black Lightning.
Thuy – who has recently appeared in “Madam Secretary” and “Pretty Little Liars” – will play Grace Choi, a bartender who becomes the love interest of Anissa Pierce (Nafessa Williams). Grace is a comic book fan who befriends Anissa while she is coming to terms with her abilities and becomes Anissa’s first confidant about the struggles and challenges of having abilities.
Though much is taken, much abides; and though
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are,
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.
