    Default Batman at its worst

Let's discuss some low points of the Caped Crusader. Even Batman can have a bad day.

worst issue/Graphic Novel- Arkham Asylum by Sam Kieth

The art and the story did nothing for me. Just an unnecessary book.

worst creative team era- Judd Winick's run

Bringing back the dead is wrong. Batman tales should be more down to earth than other
    superhero stories.

In no way is Under the Hood Batman at its worst.

I haven't read that yet, but Sam Keith's Secrets is one of my favourite batman storeis of recent years. If nothing else, Arkham Asylum must look great.

    For me:

Worst Issue/Graphic Novel: Batman/Spawn: War Devil

Worst Creative Team Era: Doug Moench's 90s run. IIRC, Jim Balent drew some Doug Moench stories so that would be the worst team.

Batman comics have been bringing back the dead for over fifty years now. And, Batman, more than some superheroes, has really good reason to, personally, want people to have a chance to come back. "Batman fights Death," as Grant Morrison put it.

I tend to agree, but NOBODY stays dead in comics, save for Bruce's parents and Spider-Man's Uncle Ben.

I didn't like the idea of Jason coming back either, but having him around as Red Hood has proven to be worthwhile. And then there's Damien dying and coming back to life.

Worst graphic novel for me would be Fortunate Son. The story, dialogue, art and characterisation are all awful.

The Long Halloween and Dark Victory.

Long Halloween is pure plagiarism towards the Godfather, features Batman stumbling at being a detective of the most elementary level, and before you even start with your "he's only starting out!" go read Year One and Shadow of the Bat, no embarassing stumbles there!

The Widening Gyre. Not one redeeming feature in it.

I was actually enjoying parts of the Widening Gyre, but yup, the bladder spasm makes this the one. Even if I really do like Fatman on Batman.

Runner up is Snyder's Mr. Freeze annual. I just can't figure out how a writer of his skill thought changing Freeze's origin the way he did was a good idea. There are boring stories, sloppy stories and brain-dead stories, but something that actively tries to undo something UNIVERSALLY acclaimed? I just don't get it.

Yeah I don't think anyone likes Fortunate Son.

For me I can't stand DKSA and ASBAR.

What has been worthwhile about the Red Hood besides Under the Hood?

The way he interacts, and provides contrast to, the rest of the bat-family in stories like Batman: Eternal and B & R Eternal.
