Is there anyone left who stills cares about Secret Wars?
Yup, even though I doubt the recap was made for me only.
Since all eight issues are in the top 30 out of 500 titles for 2015 as compiled by Diamond Comics Distributors, I'd say there's plenty who care.
The list doesn't include digital downloads. I'd think it would be safe to say the last issue will clear the 100,000 plateau. It just remains to be seen how far over. I think Marvel is pretty satisfied with that.
I admit the one on the list that surprises me is Spider-Gwen.

What are the odds Mr.Kirby makes an appearance in this issue, restores reality, and decides to give Doom a break, ya know, since he "saved the unsaveable in the face of total anihilation?"
Also, if anyone's seen the preview to #9, how awesome is it going to be whenspoilers:end of spoilers
T'Challa turns into an actual Black Panther during his showdown with Doom?!
Couldn't help myself

I've really enjoyed SW, but there are still lots of parts of it that I don't really understand. For example, how, exactly, did Doom beat the Beyonders? It had something to do with using the Molecule Man, the Beyonders' own universe-destroying weapon, against them, but what did this entail? If this was ever explained I totally missed it. This is relevant if only because the Beyonders have been murdering the most powerful beings in the MU, yet Dr. Doom (with help from Strange and Owen) manages to take them down - and, apparently, he manages to kill them all. That is something that requires a real explanation, not something that takes place somewhere off panel.
It was also never clear to me why the Beyonders were doing any of this. Just because they could? Seems like a weird reason to destroy all of reality, but then I'm not a completely omnipotent being. Well, completely omnipotent except when it comes to Doom.
This aside, I think that SW has been one of Marvel's best "event" series. It does remind me, of course, of DC's "Crisis on Infinite Earths" but it is unique enough to be its own thing.
Would we need a recap video if the damn thing just came out on time?
