Also it isn't "no boys allowed", she's just literally empowered by her femininity. I think I saw an Emerald Warlock in the solicits, so he'll probably be a masculine counterpart. In the context of real-world witchcraft, it's logfical and interesting. Plus a superheroine getting her powers directly from feminintiy is, ironically, ballsy as hell as a feminist statement. Being a woman makes her strong. I like it.
Not that in reality women or men are stronger or weaker, but we don't have magic, so our logic doesn't apply in this scenario.
