Batman and Detective Comics: Should they be like Avengers/New Avengers?

Batman already has 1 best selling title and that's enough. He doesn't need 2 books. Detective Comics can be whatever it wants to be, but I prefer if they use it as a title to showcase Batman family that doesn't have a book since Batman series focuses on Batman personally.

I rather Detective Comics focus on other characters who don't have a title than being another Batman book.

I think it needs a blend that includes Batman in it.

Lets face it, there are probably people out there who will only buy it if old pointy-ears himself is present and those people wouldn't give a rat's ass if it was only headlined by other members of the Bat-family (especially if those characters can't already hold down their own comic book).

It's not necessarily something I myself would want/require, but then again I don't currently buy Batman or Detective Comics.

i would argue that batman most certainly does require two books, so i'd prefer to keep detective batman-centric, though i concede a bat-family book would also be nice.
