Hellboy. I love the character and the writing and the art. Like other creator made comics, I also love that actions have consequences and retcons are not a likely occurrence. Mike Mignola, creator of Hellboy, has stated that there is a definitive conclusion that will be reached so I'm in for the long haul.

I would love to say this also, but there is not any more Hellboy. There is BPRD and Hellboy In Hell, both appear to be ones you will have no knowledge of.

Really? I found the last issue with the Dancing Master to be one of the finest issues since the Samaritan one-shot. And the two-parter with the lady who works in the Honor Guard's call center ranks with the best of the multi-issue stories, in my opinion.

Hmm...If I understand the premise of this thread, I would get one ongoing series with no knowledge of any other stories featuring the lead characters in my book of choice. With that, I'd probably pick something with a long history. Probably Action Comics or Superman.

He's referring to the bit in the OP that says you will be denied knowledge of other comics.

For the purposes of this thought experiment, let's just say that you can't be updated through the internet in the case of crossovers and events.
