Hildebrand's a cutie. Not a lot of pictures of her out there with long hair, so short seemed to be her style even before being cast.

Although given what her power does to her clothes, short is probably better...

So turns out the writers and director had to get Marvel's permission to change NTW's powers for the movie. The writers credit it happening without legal entanglements because Tim Miller is friends with Feige.

I was thinking of asking the X-Book editors the next time they appear on X-Position (if not a solo then at least a regular part in one of the current books, so that they are at least aware that there is interest in the character). You could also ask Axel Alonso on the Cup of Axel questions thread.

I'm actually expecting it, as I believe it was being described BY the filmmakers as a New Mutants uniform.

Yup. Individualized with each character's personal flare. NTW had her loose sweater, scarf and trenchcoat as Mirage had her Cheyenne and Valkyrie touches etc. historically.
