Can you post the link for what you are seeing? Only publisher I'm seeing is Vertical-Inc. This link (http://www.vertical-inc.com/books/bu...uddha_top.html) from their site shows the Hardcovers started in 2003 and the soft in 2006, but they list the page counts as the same.

First volume is listed as Vertical https://www.amazon.co.uk/d/Books/Bud...s=buddha+manga

    Second is Harper Collins https://www.amazon.co.uk/Four-Encoun...WB5PNHRCZS8EP4

Are they a part of the same series of collections and I'm just confusing myself?

Same series of books and same 8 volume collection. Haper Collins appears to be the UK distributor or UK licensing company. Difference in page count could be due to more/different ads, longer translation notes, etc. but in terms of story content they are the same. I don't see any Harper Collins versions of the Hardcover so I'd guess that they are just the UK distributor especially since it came out in 2006 just like the Vertical softcover.

Cheers, much appreciated. I'm tempted to just go for the box set that's around and risk it.

Just to note some of these release dates are incorrect, and some series were recently delayed.

Nekogahara: Stray Cat Samurai Volume 3 has been delayed from April to September 2017. (Also the First volume is $5.10 on Amazon atm)
Animal Land 12 has been delayed from April to September 2017.
The Heroic Legend of Arslan volume 7 has been delayed from May to October 2017.

Welcome to the Ballroom volume 3 just released after being delayed from January to March, so don't trust the released dates of Volume 4 (April), Volume 5 (May).

Princess Jellyfish volume 4 was just delayed again from March to April (its original release date was December 2016). This is after Volume 3 was delay from September to November 2016. It's release schedule is suppose to be every 3 months so don't trust Volume 5's June 2017 release date.

Clockwork Planet volume 2's April release date shouldn't be trusted since volume 1 is releasing March 21st after being delayed from February.

Fairy Tail Master Edition volume 4 was just delayed from March to June 2017 this past week so again don't trust it 100% (Volume 3 also had multiple delays).

This is mostly why I don't pre-order Kodansha releases far in advance (on places like rightstuf where they charge when you order), because they regularly over solicit or have massive delays.

It's like three Lone Wolf omnibuses in one. I think it'd be alright. Probably last longer than a DC omnibus too!
