    Default Manga Collected Editions

Welcome to the Manga Collected Editions thread! I've wanted to make this for a while and I'd love to help anyone get hooked on manga. I don't really have much to else say but I will try my best to keep this thread going and update it with more info. Any and all criticism is welcome (I really could use the help and advice). I will be post about new licenses as they come (with extra links about each series). I also will try to add the Japanese Publishers each Publisher is able to license from (eventually I want to add the individual magazines each Publisher tends to License from).

    Rules:
    1. Discussion of ongoing series: As this is a Collected Edition thread, try to keep detailed discussion of the weekly & monthly releases of series to a minimum. The New Manga/Anime Lounge Thread (http://community.comicbookresources....a-Anime-Lounge) would be a better place for that.

    Licensed Manga
Licensed Series List http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/ency...d=1&sort=title. This list isn't up to date, but it's the best I could find.

If you don't find a series listed there check baka-updates (http://mangaupdates.com). (Google the name of the series + baka updates and the series listing should be the first link you see).

So should we begin by not listing the big 3/or so of Shounen? How about manga that hits the double digits but doesn't go past 40?

finally someone since I couldn't muster up the energy for it. Cheers!
Also, I think it would be nice to have recommendations for manga newbies, essential readings and what's the current state of their english translations.

I'm currently reading this and it's very good. I need vol 2. soon.

    VIZ introduction:

    The Perfect Edition
Everyone faces uncertainty at some point in their lives. Even a brilliant surgeon like Kenzo Tenma is no exception. But there’s no way he could have known that his decision to stop chasing professional success and instead concentrate on his oath to save peoples’ lives would result in the birth of an abomination. The questions of good and evil now take on a terrifyingly real dimension.
Years later, in Germany during the tumultuous post-reunification period, middle-aged childless couples are being killed one after another. The serial killer’s identity is known. The reasons why he kills are not. Dr. Tenma sets out on a journey to find the killer’s twin sister, who may hold some clues to solving the enigma of the “Monster.”

I had to go back and check my volumes since I haven't read them in over a year. Volume 1 first 3 signatures have detached from the paper/spine (sorry I can't remember what it's called), due to poor gluing. Volume 6 is sloppily glued as well but no issues yet. 5 is noticeably better than all of the others but the rest look ok. None have any gutter loss that I can recall (there aren't many two page spreads anyway).

This made me go check through some of my other books and now I found the bottom of my Bride's Story volume 7 wasn't glued. Now I need to get that fixed.

Pick ups from the last couple of weeks. Tried out Dimension W and really enjoyed it. Art was surprisingly good. Rising of the Shield Hero's release schedule continues to be a mess. Vol 3 was listed for May and it shipped out March. Vol 2 was listed for late April and I got it in early February. Glad to get them earlier but I'd rather it have a consistent release schedule. Vol 4 just got listed for May so they can't mess that up at least. Excited to read Tokyo ESP vol 4, finally finish vol 3 and it was fantastic. Vertical's done a great job with this series, can't believe they'll have it caught up by November (14 volumes in a year and 1 month).
