Don't get me wrong, definitely not ideal.

Depending on price it's probably the only way I'll ever read Death Note because I don't have much interest in it but the chance to own a complete series in a ridiculous book is appealing. If that's the market they're targeting with it that's a risky strategy though lol.

Is Amazon going to be the cheapest route for the Akira boxset? They have it 40% off, but i really have little faith it would make it to me unharmed.

I got it for a 100 from them it looks like that's the cheapest. If it's damaged I will just keep sending it back until they get it right

Yep, I haven't had any problems with Amazon with hardcover and oversized manga (Blame! Master Editions and Ghost in the shell all came perfect condition) but whenever I do amazon returns are easy enough where I don't really worry about it.

Most irritating return experience I had was with Rightstuf last month. They sent me a defective copy and then wanted me to pay to send it back to them with no replacement (which would have cost me almost as much as the book did).

what did you do with the Rightstuff book? I don't know what some sellers think, that you will pay for basically nothing?

Keeping it for now and hoping for a cheap copy on Amazon to replace it with. It not unreadable but the last ten page aren't completely attached to the spine of the book. I think Rightstuf is the only company I've had defect issues with, last time it was a volume with a page that wasn't cut properly and the excess was just folded into the book and sent to me.

Paid $7 for it so it wasn't bad. If it was an issue with a HC and this happened I doubt I'd bother with them again. If it wasn't the fact that Instocktrades doesn't carry manga by Seven Seas, I'd probably only be using them and Amazon.

I think I've read a few chapters of Alita like 12-13 years ago and quite liked it and also heard a lot of great things about it. I think this will go to the wishlist as soon as it gets an isbn number.

I've mostly heard good things so I'll give it a shot. I was going to collect the old Viz editions since I lucked into third of the series for 20% off cover at my LCS last year, but I had a feeling Kodansha was gonna do this so I held off on it.

Hi guys, Amazon has the Akira 35th anniversary box set pre-order at $104 (48% off). I can't see it dropping any lower than 50% off, so it might be a good time to order if it's on your list.
