Well I really like a lot of stuff but especially if it involves comedy, ecchi (not too much), gore or supernatural stuff. So you can't do wrong with any manga actually XD Just heard about a manga called mysterious girlfriend X it sounded really weird, maybe a bit too weird XD

Just asked this because apparently the quality of Astro Boy is quite bad (according to a youtuber I watch).

Another question I have, which hardcover manga are there? And are they any good?
I know of (but didn't read) the following
Gundam origins (have the first 3, hoping to buy the rest soon) Only hardcover manga I've read
    Vinland Saga
    Jo Jo
    Thermae Romae
    message to adolf
    Sunny
    Wandering Son

So what's your opinion on the ones I listed and do you know more?

I really enjoyed Gundam: The Origin, I haven't read much manga these last few years, but it kept my attention the entire way through. The only other HC manga that I own are Fragments of Horror, which was a bit of a let down, and the Nausicaa HC slipcase, which is fantastic.

In addition to the ones you listed I know there's a Speed Racer box set thats in HC as well, but I haven't checked it out yet. I'm sure there must be more.

Mysterious Girlfriend X is weird since the leads literally swap spit every chapter, but other than that and some trippy dream sequences it's rather tame (imo I read a lot of weird stuff lol).

Vinland Saga is very good but the quality control of the HCs aren't. 2 of the 7 I own have signatures detached from the spine, and 2 more are poorly glued and seem likely to have similar issues. I've only read each of them once and the shelved them and this happened.

Of what I own, The Nausicaa HC set is great and worth a try. Junjo Ito's Uzumaki is worth a try if you like crazy body horror. I also own Gyo by Ito but I haven't started it yet. A Bride's Story by Kaoru Mori is a really good historical slice of life series.

I've decided to get the first Planetes omnibus as it seems like a really cool concept and idea for a story.

I remember a little while ago people were praising Gundam The Origin. I don't really know anything about it beyond giant robots, does it have a heavy military aspect? I think that's the element that makes me enjoy sci-fi.

Gundam has a very heavy military aspect, the iconic Gundam suit that embodies the series is a new model, an experimental mech designed by the loosing side of a space war with the hopes that it'll turn the tables, the civilian colony that it was being built on (in secret) is attacked and then a motley crew of low ranking officers and civilians are tasked with escorting the new mech suit back to military headquarters on earth while their on the run from some of the best the enemy can throw at them. Theres some absolutely brilliant battles with some interesting tactical twists, as someone who dosn't read a lot of manga I've fallen in love with the series and I highly recommend it.

Yen Press Licenses Goblin Slayer! Light Novel and announces simulpub for the Manga Verison http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news...series/.102118

The article also included a quote about Kadokawa's involvement with Yen Press now that they own 51% of the company,
Yen Press will still license manga and light novels from other publishers aside from Kadokawa, and Kadokawa will still license its works to publishers other than Yen Press. However, Yen Press will have a "first-and-last-look" option to license Kadokawa's manga.
Kodansha USA seems to have licensed Happiness by Shuzo Oshimi https://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=118656. The first 3 volumes are now on Amazon but aren't available to pre-order yet http://www.amazon.com/Happiness-1-Sh...n%3A7421484011.

Cheers, I'm going to go for it. Everything I've read seems to praise the hard cover quality too and for a good price. It's either this or force myself to buy some superhero stuff I don't really want ha ha.

I asked this question before but it was never answered.

I really liked the anime of Attack on Titan but I fell off after around episode 15 or so. The series really just slowed down too much for me.

Would anyone recommend the manga to me in this case?

Honestly you stopped just around where it starts falling off in the manga as well, its all right up until where they end the anime. But I truthfully can't recommend picking it all up because it just starts getting crazy and convoluted, I'd suggest reading a few of the later chapters on cruncyroll and see if you like it but otherwise I'd say avoid it.

Thats a shame. Maybe Ill check it out but probably not. I dunno if its just me but I notice that a lot with longer series, sometimes it just gets bogged down. Berserk Manga is a perfect example as well. After vol 32 or 33 I just couldnt really go any further.

    Contributing to the manga recommendations:

Neon Genesis Evangelion. From those who may or may not know of the anime original source material, its a shonen mecha and psychological manga focusing on the Angel Wars and giant robots piloted by teenagers. It's funny, got some decent action, and some powerful character interactions. The mysteries can suck you in as you try to piece together the motivations and consequences of the characters.

It is currently owned by Viz Media and the Omnibuses are out know. However due to the series being completed in only 14 volumes, there are only four omni's and the last two volumes on their own.

funny is not the word I would use for Evangelion I've read all of it, never watched the anime. Liked most of it but the ending was really weird and I'm a fan of stuff like The Invisibles and The Filth and even after those it was kind of WTF.
