    Default Forced Evolution

With all the talk about the terrigen mist i was looking for more way that evolution was forced upon humans. I found
    the Terrigen Mist
The isotope E of the high evolutionnary
the machine used by Magneto to created the Savage Land Mutates
The Enclave who created Adam Warlock and Kismet
The machine that created the Futurist ( foe of the Fantastic Four)
    Found a few at http://www.marvunapp.com/Appendix/

    the Snake-men http://www.marvunapp.com/Appendix4/s...en_slither.htm
    Dr Kurarkill http://www.marvunapp.com/Appendix2/d...killim.htm#Neo
    Captain Omen Infra-worlders http://www.marvunapp.com/Appendix/ca...Infra-Worlders
Hydro-men (created with a derivated terrigen mist) http://www.marvunapp.com/Appendix/hydromenhydro.htm
    Evolutionaries http://marvel.wikia.com/wiki/Evolutionaries
    Eternals
    Deviants

    Anything Else ?

Was it evolution that wild dogs became the myriad breeds humans have created?

Especially in the case of Terrigen Mist, it certainly was evolutionary. The use of Terrigen over generations has horribly screwed up Inhuman society due to the genetic damage it does. Once upon a time Terrigen created a very classist society within the Inhumans that caused a civil war amongst them. This was the whole reason there was a Genetics Council to restrict its use to only those with the "right genetics."

Funny how the OP's list misses the big three: Eternals, Deviants, and Mutants were forced evolution.

    Strictly speaking, no, it wasn't.

When sentient beings start to mess around with DNA on purpose, it's no longer evolution.

You can't force evolution, that's just not understanding the leaning of the word.

It very much was. By scientific definition, selective breeding is evolution by human selection.

Wrong. Genetic manipulation with a purpose is just one of many means through which evolution has always worked. It is not and has never been a completely natural thing. You seem to be confusing Natural Selection with Evolution, when the former is just a part of the latter.

The Ani-men from the High Evolutionary ( but with the Isotope E it the same)
    The Changelings ( from Woodgod)
the Ani-mate from the new mutant Bird Brain

I think you could argue its forced evolution in the sense that it is a change that happens after a certain period of time. But it is a natural evolution.

In the context of joebleau's original post, he's qualifying all these occurrences in the Marvel Universe as forced evolution. And yes, in a sense that would include mutants because the Celestials gave mainstream humanity the ability to gradually evolve the x-gene.

Wasn't that just in the Earth X version of the Marvel Universe?

No; on Earth-616 mainstream humanity was given the latent ability to evolve mutations given the right conditions. Those could be either natural (in the cause of the x-gene apparently) or artificial (external mechanisms like cosmic rays for the FF, gamma rays for banner, etc.). Hence all of humanity was tinkered on by the Celestials: Eternals, Deviants, and Latents.

well from that angle i can undestand the point about the mutants.
