    Fables #28-150/ Jack of Fables #1-5, 33-35, Fairest #1-6, The Literals #1-3
Fables: 1001 Nights of Snowfall (5 Issues Worth)
Fables: Werewolves of the Heartland (6 Issues Worth)

It should be pretty obvious that I spent the last few days reading a lot of Fables. It is an immensely enjoyable series, and one thing I really appreciate is how they deal with the consequences of major and minor developments.

The best comic I read at this time would by default be my favorite Fables story (outside the first two years.) And I guess that's The Mean Seasons/ The Long Year (Fables #30-33) which introduces some new characters who change the series in a big way, and feature some key milestones and developments, with sacrifices and comeuppances.

    Total So Far: 2,157

I'm probably not going to cover every book I read, but Fables was among the best.
    Sincerely,
    Thomas Mets

I am shocked at how many comic books some of y'all read. One poster claims to have read 2,157 comic books this year. That can't be true, can it?

Last year I was done with my 1000 by June I think. It's possible just depending on what you read and your speed. Also some of us can read in work too which makes it faster. Or on a phone or tablet while commuting.

    @wwise03

The amount of comics read equals the amount of personal freedom. Before family life, 2K in a year would have been easy pickings.

    Ms. Marvel (2006) 31-33. 3 issues

    Copperhead #1-10. 10 issues

    Star Trek 50-54. 5 issues

    Usagi Yojimbo #156. 1 issue

Groo: Fray of the Gods #1. 1 issue

    Sub-Mariner (1968) #3-4. 2 issues

    Uncanny X-Men (1963) #1,4-6, and 9. 5 issues

Franklin Richards: Happy Franksgiving. 1 issue

    The Rocketeer #1-3. 3 issues

    Captain Midnight 0-11. 12 issues

    Skyman 1-4. 4 issues

    New Total: 858

I'm taking a short break on the modern marvel reading order i've been going through, getting ready to start Dark Reign. IDW Star Trek is wrapping up with issue #60 and is starting a new series that picks up where Beyond leaves off. I'm looking forward to that and i've loved the current series.

Maybe its because it gets such high praise, but i was expecting a lot more from Dave Stevens The Rocketeer. I get that its supposed to be a pulp serial kinda thing but there wasn't nearly enough action for me.

I loved the Captain Midnight issues. I don't know how well they would hold up for a reread, but this first time around they're great. Joshua Williamson has done a great job using those common pulp tropes but putting an interesting spin on them that takes the cliche out. I feel like this is a series that becomes greater than the sum of its parts. If you just took the art, plotting, and dialogue separately they wouldn't seem that special. Put them together and everything just seems to flow nicely into one highly readable package.

Copperhead was about what i expected. I enjoyed it but nothing really grabbed my attention. I like the scifi/western genre.

My marvel reading has a giant X-Men size hole in it so i was going to start the Claremont issues last week. Having no emotional investment in the original team i stopped Giant Size X-men halfway through and went back to read some of the original issues. You hear a lot of bad things about this first series, but i didn't think they were that bad (unlike ant-man's first run.) I don't know how many of these issues i'll read before i jump to second genesis. After the two Juggernaut issues i might just start reading summaries and move on from there.

I finally read all the Fables stories this year, except Jack of Fables. That character just got on my nerves. And I loved them! Some great stuff there.

a big portion of the praise goes for the art in that book I think. Haven't read it in years though but gonna get it soon (waiting on my LCS to get the AE for me for aaaages now) and read it again but I always thought storywise the movie is much tighter and the characters are more likeable.
But to be fair I might like it this time much more since back when I first read it I haven't had much experience with GA and pulp books.
The movie on the other hand is one of my all time favourites.
I would still recommend reading Waid's Cargo of doom I think he did a great job capturing the spirit of the original and the story is a lot of fun.

    Captain America 1-3
Spencer is a great writer, caught me up on the recent and relevant Captain America history within the narrative of the book and it didn't seem forced. Over all pretty good, not quite at the level of Brubaker but still engaging.

    Hyperion - 1
    Meh.

    Civil War II - 1-4
Horrendously slow paced so I'm glad I read four issues in one sitting. I had no real interest in this series and was going to pick it up once the HC came out but with the huge number if spoilers around I thought I'd grab the single issues and see if it is worth it.

The writing is good and I'm enjoying it for the most part and the story idea itself is very interesting but the execution is wanting a little. The pace is slow for an event book and had this been the precursor to the event I would have been fine with it but for the main book it just doesn't have the weight for an "event".

I'm not sure if I am going to bother with any of the tie in titles but I'll poke my head in the main Marvel board to see what people have to say.

Overall a slow couple of weeks.
