Default If each Kryptonian had the powers of Superman while on Krypton, could they have saved their world?

Under the red sun of the planet Krypton, the Kryptonians possessed no physical abilities that ordinary humans from Earth did not also possess. Only under the auspices of a yellow sun would they have the powers demonstrated by Kal-El as Superman on Earth.

Let's say, however, that each Kryptonian was endowed with the full powers of Superman...while on Krypton. Would their collective abilities enable them to save Krypton from destruction?

Unless they had pre crisis level powers, don't see how . The planet falls apart . There's ....not a lot they can do about that other than fly off elsewhere .

Pre crisis would probably find another (uninhabitated ) planet ,break it into pieces and fix in the broken parts like a jigsaw . Or something ridiculous like that

Actually assuming we remove the possibility of the exploding planet's Green-K radiation killing them:

    1) the Kryptonians simply hold the planet together at the moment of the explosion by each pushing down on a different point. If necessary they use heat vision to weld the place back together.

    2) they use Brainiac's ray to shrink the whole place down to the size of a gumball and close their fist around it when it is ready to explode.

    3) they fly around it so fast they create a pressure wave of force that counters the explosion

    4) they beam the exploding core into the Phantom Zone

    5) they go back in time and describe the destruction of Krypton to infant Bruce Wayne and then ask his adult self what to do (Batman can solve anything with prep time)

    6) they secretly wait until all the Daxamites are sleeping and then use Jor-El's teleporter ray to swap planetary cores so Daxam blows up.

    7) they track down the Sword of Superman and after infant Kal-El uses the sword to slay Zod, he gains the power to prevent Kryton from exploding.

... But being a Silver Age story all these plans are thwarted by either Jimmy Olsen's bumbling or Lois Lane's scheming

Being a silver age story , the saving of Krypton is impossible, because of how Superman could go back in time to any point of his life except the origin, which he can't change

That is true. Even in Imaginary Stories things seemed destined to happen to make Kal into Superman.

So maybe in a world where they all had his powers the explosion simply kills them with Kryptonite radiation ... except for Kal who is sitting coincidentally in a radiation proof chamber in Jor-El's lab along with his dog at the moment of the explosion.

The Golden Age Kryptonians did all have the same powers as Superman, and they couldn't save Krypton.

In the end, the most useful power is not flying or even super-strength, but one of Superman's humblest powers... X-Ray Vision... allowing everyone to see how screwed up Krypton's core is. Let's see the Council dismiss Jor-El with THAT!

They're weren't that powerful, through. Really could't do much.

Actually that is one of the reason they lost those powers. When Superman was introduced his powers were impressive on a local scale but he'd have been just as helpless as anyone else against a disaster that struck all of Metropolis at once. But as time went on and his powers grew, it became harder and harder to justify why at the very least a race of guys with Superman's powers wouldn't have been able to fly away from the exploding planet. So we got Krypton with massive gravity and inhabitants that couldn't leap tall buildings on a whim. And later still they added in the need for a yellow sun to explain why Supergirl's people on that asteroid sized city didn't gain powers in the lighter gravity.

Well they could all just fly away. A mass exodus to a new world. They'd need some way to carry goods and supplies.

Also they'd need enough time to speed away without the exploding k-metal to end them all (which shouldn't be a problem if they're all at lightspeed).

Actually, I think they could have saved Krypton without any powers. Traditionally, the reason why Krypton blows up has more to do with the Council not believing Jor-El than the disaster being impossible to escape from. Typically there are those who do believe Jor-El, though, so I suppose if he had enough people who did believe him and they and him had super-powers (meaning they could think of solutions millions of times faster in their brains) then Krypton could have been saved.
