Default THEORIES you have on the "private lives" of Marvel/DC Heroes?

I found a 1984 Iceman comic at a thrift store the other week. I can see how the gay connection got started on this one. He runs around in his underwear minus his ice-form the whole issue looking VERY camp!

    ALSO:

Since 1995 I have always wondered about Poison Ivy and her "partnership" with Harley Quinn. Would love to see her come out in the Gotham Sirens movie...

Ever read John Byrne's FF where we meet Sweet Aunt Petunia? She turns out to be a much younger woman than expected. She and her older husband looked after young Ben Grimm on a ranch . I wonder if maybe that since her husband was old and infirm and Ben was young and healthy that maybe she.....

A frustrating sub-plot on Peter David's Young Justice was who Arrowette's father was. Is it Oliver Queen? She gave a couple of angry rants like Ollie did the Adams-O'Neil days
and her mother 'joked' that Green Arrow was her father. Alas, YJ finished before this sub-plot was explored. Maybe rebirth can dig it up.

YOUR thoughts on these? Or better yet YOUR own theories you have on DC/Marvel 'private lives'?

Interesting thread. Can't say I have any that juicy. One of my most recent ones was Barry Allen being somewhere on the Autism spectrum.

Gail Simone once made a joke about Green Lantern being jealous of all the weird sex the villians were having in Secret Six so maybe GL has some weird porn fetish that he tries to keep under wraps. She didn't specify which one so it be funny if she meant John since he's pretty straight-laced.

I think Constantine would secretly like to be one of the white hats like the justice league but realizes that's not his role to play or he's not good at being one anyway.

I think Barry might be into Dr.Who while Bruce is probably into thrillers/detective stories when he was younger. I think Bruce went through a Hamlet phase when he was a teenager, dressing in all black and into the macabre.

I think Cissie's dad was Lance "Bowstring" Jones who was a journalist Ollie knew but I think he and Cissie's mom divorced by the time she appeared in YJ. Her mom was a wannabe Speedy which is why she pushed Cissie into that field and I could see Ollie and her having a fling. I don't want that to happen in Rebirth since Ollie's got enough kids running around.

I think Diana's favorite goddess would be Athena since she's the goddess of war and wisdom and also embodies amazon ideals better than Hera and Aphrodite do to me.

I think that Poison Ivy is a regular visitor of nude beaches and naturist resorts.

I think that EVERYTHING happening in Harley Quinn's ongoing (and related minis) is just a hallucination in Harley's head while she's in her Belle Reve's cell.

Clark Kent is an avid collector of rare and vintage items. Anything one of a kind.

Bruce Wayne has obsessive compulsive disorder.

Diana reads trashy romance novels like "Fifty Shades of Grey".

Barry Allen has a collection of spores, mold and fungus like Egon from Ghostbusters. Wally West is a giant fan of Smokey & the Bandit, Dukes of Hazzard, and the Fast & Furious movies. Jay Garrick's favorite movie is Singing in the Rain.

Hal Jordan is not nearly the ladies man everyone thinks he is. He just plays along with the rumors. John Stewart has terrible taste in music. Just awful. Guy Gardner is a closeted gay man (poor, poor Ice). Kyle Rayner is a Hentai fan. Alan Scott's super conservative, but mostly keeps it to himself.

Just a few I've got (and leaving out any ships...)

Cass Cain hates martial arts movies. "Bad...form." She is also possibly on the Autistic Spectrum, and doesn't actually fully understand the concept of sexuality. This last one I can't take credit for but I like it: After she was adopted, Cassandra Wayne, staying in the manor, was basically like a cat. She had a room, but never slept in it, just curling up wherever she felt like it.

    Bart Allen is pan-sexual.

Pre-Flashpoint Roy Harper and Red Tornado sometimes hang out to share pictures of and stories about their little girls.

Among the Fab5 Titans, Garth considers Donna his best friend because she shows him the most respect...deep down this hurts Roy.

Back when he was about to start his run on 'Tec, Wizard asked Dini about Ivy's sexuality. He said he just viewed her as essentially pansexual by route of just being a hedonist. So at least one creator's got some headcanon on the same topic....

Isn't this one confirmed? I swear I've seen her listed during discussions of heroes ASD heroes. Maybe during Simone's BoP?

If it was confirmed in an interview or something, I'd LOVE to see it. Tynion has recently said that she's neuroatypical on Twitter, but he doesn't want to get into specifics. That in itself was already confirmed on the page by her original series where we saw that her brain was wired very differently from the average person.

I'm on the Spectrum myself, so I may just be projecting onto a character I already see a lot myself in, but I really do think she shows a lot of signs of ASD.

I always thought we were supposed to know that Ivy likes women just as much as men and that she was having a sexual relationship with Harley (as much as they could show of that in a cartoon show). I never thought it was supposed to be some dirty secret. That's what I found refreshing about it. Everybody was completely open and cool about their sexuality with no judgement. It's all the thieving and murdering that Batman had a problem with.

Bruce maintains several other identitiies. Volumes of his poetry have been published under a pen-name and have never made any profit. Bruce fronts a rock and roll band. He works for tips as a waiter at a small cafe in Paris.

This one just can't be true. We ALL know that Bruce thinks rock and roll is evil!

Amusingly my view of Bart Allen was that he is some form of asexual (granted he could be both ace and pansexual). And that he has romantic desires IE loves like Carol but that he's almost completely uninterested in sex and the like.

Even Tim Drake's come off as such to me at times but much less so.

Kind of spinning out of what IS canon based on the Red Tornado series but I like to think there's a LOT of plans and alternate safe houses set up for the loved ones of the heroes whether they're off the grid or the homes of other heroes like when Traya and Kathy Sutton lived at Vixen's home when they were in danger because of Red Volcano going after Reddie.

While I can't claim ownership of the idea I do like the idea that the less bloodthirsty villains actually do charitable things on occassion like visiting fans of theirs for Make a Wish or equivalent organizations and that the heroes ultimately allow it as it means they're at least not causing trouble at that time.

Not a specific character but I like to think a lot more of the heroes and villains are actually friends with one another and don't know it IE were good friends in High School or College but parted ways since then and aren't are of what's happened to them since then.

Looks like I'm wrong on this one, at least on an official level. It was a pretty popular fan theory during the l_j days, which is probably where I heard it in the first place.

I can see why DC wouldn't take the full plunge, though, given Cass' history. It'd be one of those things that people could take offense at- the only major Autistic hero at DC having a weird, abusive childhood. i honestly expected a similar backlash when Andreyko made Obsidisan gay, but thankfully, it never happened.

I also like to think that the less known heroes of the DCU regularly team up or form their own organizations and stop all sorts of threats we never get to see with the rare event that's as big as some of the stuff the big name heroes tackle.

I can get behind this actually. Makes total sense.

Two Face is bi-sexual. Not Harvey Dent, but Two Face. Seriously, how could he NOT be?
