A really really disturbing issue... I think we never saw before torture scenes so explicits or how the "dark side" from the Mignolaverse is really perverse... this belong side to side with The Crooked Man.

I loved that it almost had a wood cut look to it.

really well done, the references to other stories are absurdly subtle i don't know how some people pick up on the more obscure ones.

I've been recently trying to solve "missing hand case" and came to conclusion, that the figure on the Dragon in this issue is NOT hand-less Hellboy, but his father Azzael.
Take a look at his spiral-marked "nipples", they differ from the same vision with Hellboy and look excatly like Azzael's.

    3. Azzael from Wild Hunt - http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/...20130213192252

This looks promising, because we don't know Azzael's endgame and why he decided to give Hellboy Anum's hand.

    Interesting!

I personally don't think that parents or fathers could intervene with or take over the plights or destinies of their offspring, not even should they be gods or demons.

I don't think they could or either they would have already.
Especially Hellboy's Sister - since the demon with her name is credited with possessing all knowledge for the future - but it might be this ability will have been ever keeping her from becoming bestowed with a power such as Doom - as seemingly proving reserved for Anung Un Rama and no other.

At least I think that Anung Un Rama is supposed to be Hellboy, in how demons aren't multifold or anywhere near replace-able because they wouldn't be mortal but eternal more rather. They could or might die, but they wouldn't have to anticipate death as much as for instance mortals should.

I do like to think that a story like this titled "Witchcraft (Mom) & Demonology (Dad)" would center around Hellboy's existence.

Hellboy's birth might be so much and so evil a curse as he appears to have been wished for by a consorting witch on her actual deathbed! Sounding like a curse that should not be.
Which (hah!) Azzael seems to have complied with, almost like 'jumping at the chance', as if this would be the greatest thing he could ever accomplish, to make out with a croaking chick and plant the seed to Doom itself.

Hellboy's existence and path as the perfect story motif, because everyone wants to be rooting for him but nobody actually can root for him, because of how what to root for becomes or appears only flipped!
As if for recognizing Hellboy as a champion or protagonist a reader has to become to acquaint with him - not with what he seems about but what he is to be about!

Hellboy could become the ultimate demon yet appears but reluctant to. Hellboy appears familiar with human strifes but doesn't really act on that or does he.

And I think it likely that demons - especially those related to Hellboy - like his Father but perhaps his Sister even more so, would most currently be very disappointed and cross or at least engaged with Hellboy's plight for him being so indifferent and insubordinate as to not having started the Apocalypse already.

Whereas instead he went into Hell and slayed Satan like it'd be nothing. With Hell itself seeming in shambles as much as the world already, as a sign it all has to go sooner rather then later.

It seems to me that Hellboy's disease, his fading, would either be just time and opportunity running out or it would be his own destiny as vengefully eating away at him, for his not complying with it.

    Cool stuff.

Holy crap. Vision Hellboy looks just like Hellboy in HB in Hell 10.

    Oh crap.
