Don't mind Miller's artwork. It does look MUCH better with Jansen's inking but compared to that horrendous JRJr cover.... Its still much nicer.

I wasn't the biggest fan of the DKSA story but the art was edgy and experimental, and for me it worked.

I really enjoyed Miller's take on Jordan in DKSA.
And this set up looks pretty daman out-there and interesting too.
Visually they've definitely recaptured that same bizarre energy.
Almost a bit of a Mœbius feel.

Hopefully if he comes to Earth he remembers his champion - self made Green Lantern Wilfredo Mendoza.
His was indeed, a much to "short and sad career".

I wouldn't count them out yet.
Atom has gone subatomic before, a mere boot-stomp shouldn't end him.
And Jordan here is a near omnipotent level evolved being.
Not sure how these mini-inserts are playing out, but hopefully the last one is a bit of a JL reunion.
Even if it is their "sacrifice".

Maybe DC should consider launching a line of comics under the Dark Knight Universe Presents imprint (similar to that of Marvels Ultimate line) ... it's an intriguing world and vision, and would be cool to see further exploration
Yeah that's been considered and these mini-comics are part of that idea. We're also getting special one shots like "Last Crusade" and whatnot.

I think this mini is really channeling TDKSA

I can't remember (and don't feel like digging it up) was his female pure-light-will-being counterpart meant to be Carol, or was she an alien?
Also do you have a scan of the one-page - "short sad career of Wilfredo Mendoza" scene?
    I loved that part.

Not the best preview as it wasn't totally linear but it looks fun.

I believe that's an alien. Carol is with Bruce at the very beginning of "Dark Knight Returns" when he crashes his car, so she didn't leave for the stars with Hal. (I'm not sure, but she might actually have the first lines of the book)

    That's so great!
I admit that Carol reference never registered for me, and that the car he's driving is the Ferris 6000.
I love the implication that he'd go to her and Co. to engineer his racecar.

Holy ****, I've read it so many times and never picked up on that. And yes, she does.

Carol definitely has experience with petulant pilots pushing her vehicles beyond their limit and turning them into flaming heaps. (looks like Bruce ended up picking up a thing or two from Hal )

Interesting concept, though the depiction is a bit orientalist.

Based on the comments I thought the art would be different but some of that is just plain bad.

    Found it, loved this scene.
(with apologies to Varley the boots are now green)

Also as trippy as the whole thing was, there was some great set up and poignant moments.
    Jordan's comments on Earth...

"a species that point weapons at it's own territory." sad truth.
