It's going to be a continuation. Ryan Murphy has stated that since the beginning that he would take the surviving characters and move them to a new location every season, rather than go the AHS route.

Hopefully it goes a bit crazier with the kills, it is a slasher tv show after all. Still, the first season was fun for what it was, but it could have been better.
