Which Villain do you want in the next Spider-Man movie?

They're going with the tone of a John Hughes movie, where the darkest thing that comes to mind is Macaulay Culkin's character from Home Alone setting up traps. I kind of doubt they'll be able to get Sam Raimi unless he's in a reduced role or we get something similar to Edgar Wright leaving Ant-Man.

Ah. Haven't seen that movie. Either way, based on how they make the comparison, I can't see them going for something as dark as Batman Begins.

The last set of movies tried to go dark. They just didn't do a good job with it (or anything really, if I'm being honest).

That the new director name dropped USM and SMLMJ as inspirations seems to indicate they aren't going for a really dark tone. But the director's previous film, Cop Car, was pretty dark. So we shall see.
