Yeah. I mean, he had to be fairly hungry to go after Asgard rather than something a little easier. Where as he ate some planets to top up before fighting the Celestials.

He was trying to get a specific artifact that would date his hunger for a very long time so he wouldn't have to eat worlds for an eon or two, IIRC.

Odin and company didn't want him to do so because that would make him a God, and for some reason they thought that a guy who is older than the universe, stronger than their entire pantheon to the point where he can take on and defeat multiple members of a species whose individual members punked Odin drawing on the power of all the other Asgardians while being amped with both the Destroyer Armor and the Odinsword, sibling to both the embodiment of the Universe and Death herself, whose survival is required for the survival of the universe, and who is destined to eventually become the Cosmic Egg from which the next Universe would be formed (IIRC), would need the fancy titles.
