They may have better luck putting ads in the Star Wars comics.
I think ads on the CW superhero TV shows and on CBS' Supergirl might be worth considering . . .

I don't pay much attention to where comics are advertised but maybe DC should consider advertising in all the same places Marvel does wherever that is. (I honestly can't recall seeing any advertisement for Marvel's recent relaunch anywhere outside of places that were comic book related so I'm at a complete loss as to where they are advertising outside of those places. ) Also maybe advertising in magazines and newpapers would be a good idea as well as on DVDs of the movies and at the movies themselves. Batman V Superman is happening shortly so that would be the perfect time to drum up some business.

If WB will cut them some slack on the rates.

And that's still very wasteful advertising spending - I doubt a large percentage of the TV viewing audience is interesting in reading for pleasure.

I'd be more interested in seeing ads on Syfy or other 'geek' cable networks. At least there you know that your audience is a bunch of nerds, so more likely to be interested.

Here's an interesting article about just that...
But I think that to get the positive results that he eventually found, DC would need to direct potential online audiences to their Comixology page for impulse buys... which could cause a backlash among retailers.
And directing people to "their local comic shop" creates a barrier for the casually interested potential customers.
