It's like the producers heard the complaints about the show getting too silly and decided to get serious for this episode.

It was sort of interesting that Ava's idea of purgatory was being stuck in an Ikea.

I'm so glad that Gary is joining Neron. The Legends & Time Bureau treat him like crap for no reason. I get that he's a little silly, but if he was such an annoyance, why not fire him?
I just hope they don't kill him off.

Besides, he seems competent enough to do the job at the Bureau. The Legends screw up all of the time, so they are really in no position to be annoyed with another screw up. But I suppose that is what makes them screw ups.

The Legends might screw up initially, but their skills and powers always rectify things at the end. Gary, OTOH, is the show's comedy relief and nothing more (though that might not be the case now after last night's episode).

My problem with Legends of Tomorrow is that none of the female characters originated from DC Comics, which is sad to me. There are lots of good female characters they can use and how they can be part of the team. For example, Goldstar is trying to find her nephew's (Rip Hunter) essence throughout the time stream.

If they want more 'outcasts and misfits' female characters, get Horsewoman to represent the disabled or Grant Morrison's Shining Knight to represent the transgender.

I am also disappointed that Neron isn't shown as he is in the comics.

If I recall, Zari is actually supposed to be an adaptation of Adrianna Tomaz, whom LOT had to rename since her original super name was coopted by an infamous terrorist organization in real life, so that's one female character who technically originates from the comics. That said, I do agree with your suggestions to include Goldstar, Horsewoman, and Shining Knight as part of the series, and I'd even throw in Judomaster from Geoff Johns' Justice Society of America.
