I do hope it's brought up directly again. That being said she is the assassin on the team. So I assume she's dropped some bad guy bodies during the fights. Would be amusing if we flash back and it was a point of negotitation from Rip.

I think Sara's bloodlust will come up again, because I suppose it adds an extra element to her character, but I don't necessarily want them to dwell on it that much. Thea having it is *almost* starting to get old, so I don't know if I can take another "This bloodlust! I can't control it!" storyline on a second show. Plus, I really enjoy this laid-back version of Sara.

As for why she didn't have it in this episode, I'm going to assume that she had killed someone just before going off to have a drink in that bar in Tibet (or wherever we first meet her in the pilot).

Did anyone catch that Damien Darhk was dressed as Ernst Stavro Blofeld? I noticed his outfit, but didn't make the Blofeld connection until I read this piece.

Just finished watching the second part of the pilot and I've largely enjoyed what I've seen. I'm still not sold on Rip Hunter yet, as he feels like a bargain basement Dr Who, but my only serious issue with these episodes (I mean, at this point, do we really need to mention the occasionally crummy dialogue and general cheesiness that is weirdly part of the charm of Berlenti's DC shows?) was that the Hawks really drag this show down - and having Vandal Savage linked to them doesn't exactly help him out as a serious villain either. The interactions and weird matchups between everyone else on the show works brilliantly and the whole thing has a wonderfully endearing sense of the goofiness of the lighthearted adventure serial that lies at the heart of its premise but every time either of the Hawks show up I completely lose interest. Awful flashbacks, terrible characterization, zero chemistry and very weak acting from the guy playing Hawkman, make one of the centrals parts of the show pretty unbearable.

That ending might course correct this particular problem but there's still a lot of work to be done to make Kendra a remotely interesting character (which is weird since Hawkgirl was easily one of the best charcaters in JLU) and I'm reasonably sure they're going to reverse the ending sooner rather than later, which would be a damn shame.
Yeah, I never cared about Kendra/Shiera in the comics, and I agree that she's the weakest link here. Definitely wish this was Shayera instead, but hopefully she'll grow on me. Watching Arthur Darvill basically playing the DCTV version of the Doctor is a highlight for me, though. It won't happen, but man, I'd love it if Karen Gillan crossed universes and made an appearance here.

    EDIT:

I guess Heat and Cold is an acquired taste. I love what they're doing. Clearly the scenery chewing is intentional--that's why it's entertaining. It's that contrast between them and the rest of the group that's so fun to play with. Seeing them enlist Sara as a partner in their misdemeanours was great to watch.

As long as they don't go around killing people, I can enjoy them as old school rogues. If they toned it down and acted like all the other stiffs on this show, then the series would be really boring. Hopefully, Brandon Routh will be given more funny things to do--because I think he has a lot of comedy skills when allowed to use them.
I like them, but their act is a little much now that they're main characters on the show. I'd like them to tone it down a bit when they're with the rest of the crew, then pull out the scenery chewing and one-liners for big battle scenes. I could see this happening over time.

I really like this show so far. They did a great job of hiding the true reason why these characters were chosen. When it was originally announced I couldn't understand why Captain Cold and Heatwave were on a team commissioned with saving the world. And I it didn't make sense to not recruit Green Arrow and The Flash if the fate of the world was at stake. But now it all makes sense. Rip gathered them because they're relatively insignificant to the time stream. A great little twist. They have to earn the right to be called Legends as they start out as a team of outcasts, criminals, and failures.
The guy who played young Marin Stein was great! A perfect younger version of the character. He nailed the mannerisms.
Oh Caity Lotz. How I love you. Some actors really can't sell the fight scenes but Caity always looks super badass.
I'm kinda glad Hawkman is off the regular cast. The actor really wasn't a good choice for the role. But I'm sure he'll pop up again as a different version of Carter Hall.

I have to say, I've been pleasantly surprised by how the show has characterized Rip. He's a lot different from what I was expecting given how they were portraying him in the previews for Legends and in interviews. In-spite of how his mission to stop Savage is primarily because of his own personal vendetta, and how he manipulated the rest of the team to join, Rip deep down is a good and honorable person who's still plagued by the loss of his family.

It's also tragically ironic that, in his attempts to stop Savage and save his family, Rip actually set Savage on the course to killing them since his attempts to kill Savage led to enough of an enmity between the two that Savage would want to kill Rip's family. It explains why Savage referred to Jonas' dad as "foolish" as if he knew Rip .

I hope the team finally gets their act together after this. They're not going to stand a chance of toppling Savage if they're all too busy doing their own thing and possibly messing with the timeline which leaves them unavailable for the stuff that would require the full team. Compared to Team Arrow, which is basically a fine-tuned machine at this point, they still have a long ways to go.

Poor Kendra had to bury her son and lover...which I guess might be a first for her, given she usually doesn't survive long after seeing Carter get killed .

At least Jax was very resistant to the idea of transporting Snart and Mick to Central City just so they could carry out a robbery. It wouldn't have been very hero-like to just go along with it and help them without a fuss. And it was cool when he just busted in there, without even being Firestorm, and started punching dudes.

Happy to see Sara is making some genuine progress on her bloodlust, and she and Rip made a pretty good team in this episode .

To be honest, I had completely forgotten Ray had a dead fiancee which motivated him to become a Superhero. It had been so long since it's come up, and he never really acts like it, that it was kinda surprising to hear it be brought up again.

It was interesting seeing the two super-smart guys on the team interact more, and it was also nice to see Professor Stein help Ray out of his funk in order to help Kendra, even if he had to lie about remembering Ray as a student to do it. Also, using his shrinking abilities to go into someone's body in order to save them is so Atom!

So Lewis Snart wasn't always abusive to his family, it was only after he had gotten caught and sent to prison that it turned him into the dirtbag who'd wire his own daughter with an explosive. I guess I can't blame Cold for trying to prevent that from happening, saving both his father and his family from the unhappiness that it's ultimately going to bring (and maybe even saving his fathers life), even if events unfolded that kept the previous history intact.

And now it makes more sense why a seemingly innocent kid eventually became Captain Cold...not only the abuse, but because his future-self told him to always only care about himself and never let anyone hurt him. It's part of a coping mechanism, in some ways. Though I was surprised Snart never mentioned protecting Lisa, since she's one of the only things he seems to care about beyond money and himself, but apparently she still hadn't been born yet.

It also shows how close Snart and Mick are that Mick actually knows where he and Lisa used to live as kids.

So Savage has been cutting up the Hawks' dead bodies to fuel his own cult? Jeez...

I'm really liking how the characters play off each other so well on this show. If this keeps up the momentum, I can see this toping Flash in terms of quality.

I'm all for suspending disbelief, but this episode wrapped up very clumsily. They defeated Vandal Savage. And then they just left him there so they can defeat him again another day?! Just because he's immortal doesn't mean they couldn't at least restrain or contain him until Kendra was well enough to kill him herself. Seriously, it's just a major WTF.

After watching the first two episodes I was thinking that this is a good action show and that it's fun to see the further adventures of these characters from "Arrow" and "The Flash," two shows I love, but that's really all I felt. I didn't really CARE about it the way I do with its parent shows, it was just goofy comic book action. But tonight, I cared. Great episode.

Hey, no one's commented on the elephant in the room statement that Rip made in this episode about how he's seen "Men of Steel die and Dark Knights fall." Really, CW? You're really sneeking a line like that into the mix NOW? I'd like to ask what everyone thinks of it and whether it means that Superman and Batman exist in this universe. It seems like a pretty provocative line this soon before Grant Gustin guest stars on "Supergirl" AND the release of "Batman v Superman" (though I fully understand that the tv and movie worlds have no connection).

Personally, I'd prefer they leave it ambiguous as to whether Superman and Batman met tragic ends, especially since Vandal Savage never comes into power until after they'd have died of natural causes anyway.

But I get what the line was going for, as it's Rip's way of saying that the world has been through dark moments and still survived.

I'd agree that the way they just kind of shrugged off defeating Vandal Savage was a bit of a stretch. I'm trying to remember if it was Hawkgirl who killed him in the FLASH/ARROW crossover episode. I assume eventually they'll cover the point in the timeline where Vandal was resurrected by Malcolm Merlyn?

Lines like that are in-jokes. Just like Oliver Queen's statement that the name "Oracle" was taken. They do not mean that Batman, Superman or Oracle/Barbara Gordon exist in the Arrowverse.

Yeah, this goes back to when Firestorm off camera "incinerated" him. C'mon, cut his head off (or duct tape him to the boy's locker room bench, or something) while he's down for the count and we're waiting for Kendra. but I guess we wouldn't have a series.

I think the problem with holding Savage is that, as powerful as he is, as soon as he heals from a serious injury chances are he's going to find a way to escape and chances are that brining him on the Waverider would cause more problems than it would solve.

And Rip probably doesn't want to risk the potential issues removing Savage completely from the timeline would cause, at least until they've reduced his power in the pas a significant bit.

That logic doesn't work when you have a weapon that can keep him frozen solid indefinitely until Kendra is ready to stab him to death with the magic plot device knife that only she can use. And the issue of not removing him from the timeline didn't matter last week when Carter was going to kill him but the plot device knife didn't work for him, it also didn't matter when Rip was going to kill him 4000 years in the past before he could do anything like influence every major leader and event in history.
