I believe Batman pointed out the hypocrisy of the "force peace" but to her in KINGDOM COME. And then Wonder Woman lost it and went at him.
Superman is characterized by his overdeveloped sense of restraint. He's there to protect us from things not of our own making (i.e. natural disasters, super villains, alien invasions, etc). In no sense is his mission to stop humans from fighting each other or end civil wars. He could, but then you get INJUSTICE: GODS AMONG US where he has no restraint and becomes the villain.Just like Superman fights to inspire the world to build a better future. He still does a lot of hurting people and breaking things.
It's just the word "Peace" that is problematic. Warriors are not peaceful, they are the opposite of that. Replace "Peace" with some other less limiting ideal like "Truth", and you're good to go.
Back on track, please, so let's can the Godwin's law discussion and whether or not Batman was right or wrong
In another post I quoted the actual definition so as not to cause confusion.
a·venge
[uh-venj] Show IPA
verb (used with object), a·venged, a·veng·ing.
1. to take vengeance or exact satisfaction for: to avenge a grave insult.
2. to take vengeance on behalf of: He avenged his brother.
Have to admit, I'm not a fan of anything with 'Dame' as it's just a female version of 'Knight' which is used for Batman.
Whatever y'all come up with, I don't think it should be related to Superman or Batman
