Being a Mary Jane design isn't exactly a bad thing either

I know she has been Spider-woman before but this time, she will be called Spider-Mary and with a different Spider costume. What do you all think?
    Absolutely not.

Mary Jane's appeal comes in large part from her normalacy and being a bad ass civilian, a grounding force.

Spider-Gwen is a concept which works in theory (albeit not in practice if you read the solo-book which leaves much to be desired) because Gwen Stacy was a poorly defined character. You could thus rip out who she was under Stan Lee's pen and create someone new built around the central idea of role reversing how she died in Peter's life by having his death be her motivation.

It doesn't work as effectively for a character with much more definition like Mary Jane. It'd be fine for a What If story but probably not an ongoing. Spider-Gwen's nature allows for a lot more flexibility in herself and her series.

I happen to think the Spider-Gwen book is a good book, but different strokes for different folks and all that

I disagree, its distracting and illogical that fictional people based on reality can be equal to fantasies and heroes of those fantasies, which is why I have trouble with punisher and shield sometimes.

MJ defies the point of being unable to adapt to unrealistic situations due to her having realisim as her basis, which makes her a redundant character to keep normal to begin with. Plus PIS and plot armor.

So it's agreed than, MJ having spider powers is a horrible idea that should never go into fruition at how bland and unoriginal the concept would be.

Bit of a mixed bag actually, seems like some would like it to happen, others seem on the fence about it and some, like you, hate the idea.

Not spider powers, just powers period, something that will not allow me to roll my eyes in annoyance when she appears involving herself in affairs of an super human environment and has no believable way to be useful unless pis.

That would have been a fun pairing, as would Ben Reilly and Firestar from the time Ben was in the original New Warriors.
The spider is always on the hunt.

    LOL

Or...''How about no'' or something else that's equally short and sweet as well as having no wriggle room for compromise LOL.

A fan did a mock-up cover of the idea. Even designed a new costume.

Nah there's so many spider-women now that "Spider-Women" has become an event upcoming. Since she's with Iron Man now she should have an Iron name like Iron Maiden or something

Not bad actually, better than I thought any mock-up would be like regarding ''Scarlet Mj''

Wow, not bad! Pretty cool costume .

Looks a lot like Ultimate Spider-Woman's costume though.
