Soul of the Dragon is one of the better animated DC films we’ve had in a while.
We truly get a proper Lady Shiva and Bronze Tiger here. Good action and a solid story given the characters and time constraints. I wish we had more time with Dragon, Shiva and Tiger.
Batman was fine in this film. He was the draw because DC doesn’t really have too much faith in non Batman or Superman projects. They do them every once in a while but it’s rare.
The film could have probably worked just as well without Batman but I’m fine with him being there. Voice acting was good throughout. Almost wish we got two hours for this just to delve a little deeper into some characters
The J-man
In reverse order,
* There was an Aquaman back during the Golden Age, and Roy Thomas did have him briefly appear in All-Star Squadron, but at the time he was later erased after the end of the Multiverse from Crisis on Infinite Earths.
* So, in addition to "Flash" (which we're assuming might be Barry), there's Aquaman (more likely a non-Golden Age version?) and also Iris West, so that might be three post-Golden Age characters?
My guess is that they'll be a framing device set in the present with old Jay Garrick, voiced by an older actor, telling the story of his younger days as The Flash, voiced by Boomer, who has a very youthful voice.
I don't think Armen Taylor sounds that old, but I guess if it's what the role needs...
Does this mean Barry and Iris go back in time, disguise themselves as Jay Garrick and Joan and then come back to the present in a stable time loop? Because that would be awful.

My guess is this movie is going to be a story told by WW to Barry.
