Could probably cut 30mins from this film just by getting rid of all of the dead air

I don't know why that's suddenly an issue in the films because I don't remember it happening with the DCAMU.

She was great in the Legion film though.

Because the DCAMU had a much bigger budget. They moved to this style to save money and apparently by COIE they blew the budget and had to use less frames. Just like Young Justice Season 4.

If budget was this much of an issue, why did they insist on doing a THREE parter?

It's so funny because over at X-Men 97, 13487 things happen in a single minute. Whereas an entire hour from one of these films is like

Definitely could have used a Flash film and a Green Lantern film (focused on Hal/John)…. Oh what could have been!
Do we know why DCAMU was killed?

No official reason was given but we can take a guess looking at the much cheaper animation of the Tomorrowverse films.

I mean, can you imagine them doing Crisis as a two-parter or a single movie?

X-Men has the benefit of being a 10-episode series, compare it to Studio MIR's work on YJ season 4 in 26 episodes even if it means the former has wonky pacing (granted the latter's pacing wasn't great either).

    You are comparing the incomparable.
Disney is fully invested in X-Men 97. It's one of their biggest releases this year on par with Deadpool and Wolverine, they marketed the hell out of it, and they put a lot of money into this. It's literally one of the biggest TV-shows this year (and it says something, considering, that Shogun just came out this year, and the next seasons of the House of the Dragon and the Bear are ahead).
WBD doesn't care. It's not priority projects for them.

They were given X amount of films and thought this is how you go out with a bang.

Now DC/WB is 2 for 2 in pathetic and poor COIE adaptations. Running it's legacy into the ground

They clearly don't have any budget for the animation, but they should at least try to compensate with the script.

But i'll never forget this "awesome" moment of the heroes after the threat was solved.

Haha this totally reminds me of Monty Python and the Holy Grail. “…and there was much rejoicing (yaaay)”

I think DCAMU sales overall is plummeting over the years. New "universe" fresh entry for new fans therefore increased revenues (well that's what they hope)

Can't say much the Tomorrowverse unless there are comprehensive table that showing each movie budget and revenue.

Unofficially, lagging sales has been a repeated reason that was stated.

However, if you check The Numbers website. You’ll see that the main breadwinners were still raking in high returns for the DCAMU. Batman, Superman, Justice League and the Teen Titans movies. Other things like WW Bloodlines, Constantine City of Demons and Suicide Squad Hell To Pay all underperformed. None of them cracked $2 million in Blu-ray/DVD sales. We don’t know what digital sales numbers are.

However, the lowest DCAMU films are still higher than the lowest Tomorrowverse films. The lowest selling Tomorrowverse movies at the moment are GL Beware My Power, Legion Of Super-Heroes, Justice League Warworld.

Superman, Long Halloween and JSA WW2 are the highest grossing Tomorrowverse movies and the only films that have comparable success to late stage DCAMU movies. Such as JL Apokolips War, Batman Hush, Batman Bad Blood, TT Judas Contract, Death and Reign of Superman.

From my perspective, this is just another day ending in ‘Y’ at WB/DC. Line wide reboot of an established shared universe in favor of a different shared universe. Like I said earlier, there have been no in-universe or out-of-universe connections from the Tomorrowverse movies to defunct DCAMU; before COIE part 1. It’s last call for all DTV movies and they decide now to pull out all the stops. It’s a shame that COIE, which is approaching its 40 anniversary next year. Is not given a higher production budget and more faithful adaptation for release to the fans and general audience.
