As in the storm ongoing by Greg pak? Yeah I'm loving it. The recent issue about wolverine is a bit of a downer because I don't know why a goddess like storm would care about a loser like wolverine but everything else about it I love. It's probably one of my favourite runs at the moment

Honestly, I'm surprised they are crafting books for both Spider-Gwen and Silk following Spiderverse.

You'd think we didn't have enough potential Spider-spinoffs but I guess if there is a demand and such.

I'm not knocking the characters or the creators, but I think it's a case of Marvel doing their throw a bunch of things against the walls and see what sticks mode right now.

Silk, I can understand. They clearly hope she becomes a thing. They want her to be popular. Unfortunately, she was given an introduction that makes that less likely - she came across as way too much of a Mary Sue in her first arc. We'll see if other writers can make her more appealing.

Spider-Gwen is getting an ongoing, I think, for two reasons. First, people loved Emma Stone's Gwen Stacy in Amazing Spider-Man. Second, there was a lot of excitement for the Spider-Gwen issue of Edge of Spider-Verse, well before it even came out. Once it did come out, it got a ton of love. I think what happened was that Marvel did the Edge issue to see if there was a market for a Gwen Stacy comic, and they probably had Latour and Rodriguez working on some plans for a series. If the Edge issue hadn't gotten much attention, then that would've been the end of it. As soon as it got that love, though, Marvel made it official.

I love how many female titles Marvel has at the moment, hopefully it translates to their films soon! I'm following Captain Marvel, Ms Marvel, Storm, She-Hulk and Black Widow but I'll definitely add at least Spider-Gwen and I'll give Silk and Gamora a try. I think it's pretty obvious that they're just throwing all these titles out there to see what will stick but still I love it and all the variety!

What are your thoughts on the upcoming female ongoings? re you going to try each one? Angela #1, Spider-woman #1, Squirrel Girl #1, Spider-Gwen #1, Silk #1 and Gamora #1?

I just saw the Variant cover for Spider-Woman #1... can't exactly call that a positive female image. I don't think there were a lot of women behind the scenes on that decision. Still, they've done a lot to push the character the last couple years maybe there will be a decent run out of it. She does have the potential for a good story or two. I don't see the rest of them lasting too long though.

Land traces porn, recycles images constantly, has an unreasoning hatred of hips, and is the least dynamic artist in all of mainstream comics. Land is incapable of visual storytelling, which means Hopeless is going to have to work that much harder to make the book interesting.

Actually, as bad as this is going to sound, I kinda hope Spider-Woman's series bombs. I hope it does significantly worse than anyone could've expected. One of the reasons that gets used a lot for why Land gets so much work at Marvel is that he sells. If Spider-Woman's sales are lower than expected, that would prove that Land doesn't sell. It wouldn't necessarily prove that he turns readers away, either, but it would be a strong indication that Land doesn't sell books, he just gets attached to books that sell well.

I doubt that's the view Marvel would take, of course. They'd just say that it failed because no one was interested in a Spider-Woman solo (and they'd probably be right). But it would be something that people could use when talking about Land.

I simply adore them. However as previously mentioned, there are just so many now that I am not sure I can afford them all. I really want to get spiderwoman, squirrel girl, spider Gwen, silk and Gamora and I'll probably trade wait for angela even though I heard them talking about that on the women of marvel podcast and it sounds amazing!

I'm with you there! Can't see it happening after the recent announcements though. I just hope she makes it through Spider-Verse! I had thought (perhaps incorrectly) that Silk was going to be a support character in Spider-Woman. Now that she's getting her own book though I hope she's gone after the opening arc and Anya can hang around.

Sounds like Marvel suggested Spider-Gwen to Latour and he just went nuts. According to the recent interview he has years of Spider-Gwen stories.

Oh Tiamatty, your Land rage never fails to put a grin on my face. You should come with a warning like Gremlins and midnight snacks.

I know people say Land sells, I'm not sure that's the case. I just don't think he has an adverse affect on titles either. If he was to do an arc on Avengers or All-New X-Men I don't think you would see a mass exodus of readers.

I hope it's a big success but mostly because I love Hopeless.

I'm still waiting on Bobbi to show up regularly in something, or get her own ongoing. You'd think that, with her showing up on Agents of SHIELD soon and the news being well received since it was announced, Marvel would be doing something with her in the comics.

Aw, I'd love to see an Anya ongoing, or at least her being part of a relaunched Young Avengers team. I mean, she's already shown that she's as good or better than most of the adult heroes.
