Default Chris Kyle (American Sniper) vs Jason Bourne (Bourne trilogy)

If the legendary Navy SEAL, Chris Kyle, especially as depicted in the Hollywood film, American Sniper, were to take on Jason Bourne, can he surpass him?

    Round 1: Sniper duel

Round 2: Open shootout (no prep)

Round 3: Anything goes with all-out prep

    Location: Baghdad, Iraq

    Who wins?

Bourne beats him (except possibly in sniper duel, haven't seen Bourne movies in a while and don't recall his sniper feats if any). Basically Bourne is an action hero and Kyle is a real guy.

To be fair, real guy Simo Hayha makes both of these guys look like rank amateurs when it comes to sniping.

Bourne beat a sniper with shotgun in the first film. He played the effort to weed him out then shotgun. Also in sniping had action hero style way of getting to perfect spots without getting people to notice.

    Until it's too late.

I wish this forum had a "like" button. I would use it right now.

Chris Kyle is undead and has a working television in his coffin? That is so cool.

Well, yes and no. Simo was undoubtedly an exceptional marksman.

However, during the Winter War of 1940, the soviet army was in chaos. Stalin had just completed another purge, this one including almost all of his experienced military officers. The soviet army during the Winter war did things like advance infantry out in the open, without cover or camouflage. Meanwhile, Finland had hordes of snipers wearing white camo-suits firing from concealment.

The Soviets basically served their men up to the Finns on a platter. It was a slaughter. Simo wasn't the only Finnish sniper who racked up hundreds of kills, he just had the most. Only towards the end of the Winter War did the Soviets finally start issuing their troops white camo, and start deploying soviet counter-snipers. (One of these counter-snipers is who almost killed Simo, that's how he got half his face blown off and acquired that hideous cheek deformity)

Chris Kyle in the movie also managed to headshot one of Iraq's most legendary best-trained snipers from over 2000 yards away (I think) and I assume the latter had extremely good cover and was giving the US SEALs and Armed forces plenty of trouble to be dealt with iirc.

I'd like to see Bourne top that.

More like 1000 yards, during the real long distance engagements. But most urban combat, even between snipers, is at 500 yards or less.

"Mustafa", the insurgent sniper in the movie, mainly used the FPK/PSL Sniper Rifle and the Dragunov. Both of those fire 7.62x54R. You'll get about a thousand yards out of that with a good scope, not any more.

The real Chris Kyle never encountered this guy, he said so in interviews, it was something they made up for the movie. The actual insurgent sniper was later killed by other SF snipers after Kyle had already returned to the states.

Anyways on topic, can Bourne handle the movie Chris Kyle in a sniper duel in Iraq? Especially without cover?
