    Going a bit more classic.

I think restorative nostalgia is the number one issue with comic book fans.
A fine distinction between two types of Nostalgia:

Reflective Nostalgia allows us to savor our memories but accepts that they are in the past
Restorative Nostalgia pushes back against the here and now, keeping us stuck trying to relive our glory days.

    Oh, yes. Excellent pick.

Nichelle Nichols relates how Dr.King encouraged her to remain on Star Trek:

“Dr. Martin Luther King, quite some time after I’d first met him, approached me and said something along the lines of ‘Nichelle, whether you like it or not, you have become an symbol. If you leave, they can replace you with a blonde haired white girl, and it will be like you were never there. What you’ve accomplished, for all of us, will only be real if you stay.’ That got me thinking about how it would look for fans of color around the country if they saw me leave. I saw that this was bigger than just me.”

    Amen, Ms. Nichols.

Just gotta say we're twenty four hours into this and it's shaping to be one of the best rounds of covers yet. Nice selections, all!

Is it ok to post covers even if it's too late for people to vote on them according to the rules or should we wait under the contest is over?

We usually wait until after the contest to post additional covers.

I once had the pleasure of watching Brain Stelfreeze give an amateur artist a quick lesson perspective. To see an artist sit there and explain art was fascinating. The technical aspects, I mean. It was something I had never seen or even thought of, really. As someone who can barely a circle with a compass, it was a cool way to spend five minutes.

Black Panther got his first solo book. And what a story to kick it off. McGregor, Buckler and Janson brought the heat inside, with Frank G on the cover inks. Billy Graham an African American artist, later worked on the series.
