    This is incorrect.
Phil Coulson is not the only main lead.He is the leader but not only main lead.
Agents of shield is team show, not solo main character show.

So both shang's parents are bi-racial east asians and the big guy he is about to fight calls him half-breed.
So shang in the comics is really a bi-racial asian too like mantis and the actor Dave Bautista.

    The info is from here.

Since a lot of these arguments and Mighty Whitey BS is based around TV Tropes, guess who I found as the first example on TV Tropes for Comic Books for MIGHTY WHITEY:

Although it's certainly not the only - or even the main - facet of his personality, Batman is a good example. He was trained in martial arts by the Korean master Kirigi and the half-Chinese warrior-woman Lady Shiva, learned stealth skills from Japanese ninjas, studied the tracking techniques of African hunter-gatherers, and bested Ra's al-Ghul in a battle of scimitars.

Because of the shared comicbook history between Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, most likely.

    Can you be more specific?

Luke Cage and Iron Fist have been one Marvel's greatest partnerships since the 70's.
Cage is married to Jessica Jones.
They all have close connections with Daredevil.

That connect still doesn't really explain why the Iron Fist character should be changed over other characters, including Daredevil. Unless you want to make the argument that it's bad because you have three white people vs. one African American male and that's abhorrent.

    Okay. Miscommunication here.

    You said chance, not change.

OK I was responding to CeramicDragon who said "chance." Asian Americans seemingly were entitled to get a chance for this character specifically. I don't know why. And technically why is the chance needed to make a change to this character instead of numerous others?

Why not just create your own character and make them interesting and complex and fleshed-out? Why does anyone have to change? If the writing is good, it should be able to support its own characters, right?

That way you don't upset the radical liberalists out there who only want to push their own political agenda onto everything they see, and you don't mess up with the comic-book fans out there who want their favorite characters to be loyally portrayed on screen. It's a win-win.
