If that's suppossed to be the case then why did Prof. X recruit Wolverine?

Ehm... Have you read any X-Men books published the last 20-30 years?
M-U-R-D-E-R in all caps.
The X-Men have killed plenty in the past. For example, in Mutant Massacre, Colossus killed Riptide and Rogue told just after this that killing was her job and Wolverine's job.
Xavier also killed/brainwashed Magneto 2 times (I think).
Haven't the majority of the adult X-Men killed someone at some point in their life?
X-Men all time killing different aliens, monsters, animals and sometimes people. Wolverine professional in this business. But officially the X-Men are good heroes and good heroes should not kill.
I remember when Dust said "The X-Men don't kill! Jean Grey taught me that!" And Laura says "And look where she is now"...
I know she was kinda of right, but still, it felt so mean
Anyone remember this scene?
That's why Im fine with this "rule" being abolished and forgotten because I think only hypocrisy and nonsense can come from it. People kill when they feel the need arises or if there is no other choice. Boom. End of story. I have no problem with that.
At this point in time I feel it's just a leftover from the time where the Comics Code was actually relevant.
I feel that was actually a very well thought out conversation that was meant to show the flaw in "the X-Men don't kill"

"This is me being reasonable"
"We didn't killed the ones that mattered "
Wolverine 2013
Wasn't always the case but they do and have for years. I'm cool with it as long as it is justified.
Be the change you wish to see in the world.
