After all the negative press they've got from certain castings, I can't see marvel casting a non-hispanic actress in an hispanic role.

I don't see her playing Ava. I would think, even with Hollywood being Hollywood, that they would get an actual Hispanic actress to play her instead of a bi-racial actress who identifies as African-American.
As for Ava being in Homecoming? The less this movie is like the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon, the better in my opinion .
Oddly enough, I think RDJ is in there to fill seats more than to add BIG SCIENCE. He's all about fast cars and hair anyways. Ad besides all the Iron Man and Avengers movies put together have less science than the first Spider-Man film.
Every day is a gift, not a given right.
Current rumor is that she's a well-known character but the reveal is supposed to be a surprise. That might be unrealistic on the current media environment.

Would interesting if she ended up as Peter's BFF and there's no romance between them.
Odds are very low that'll happen but it could and would be an interesting new thing for Peter. A female lead that he doesn't end up dating/sleeping with.

Wouldn't Anya be too young to be cast anyway since Peter is so young in this? They would really screw up her age if they cast Anya as around Peter's age.
Course Ultimate Spider-Man the TV series changed Ava's age to be around Peter's...
Until it's official, I won't believe it.
Not even opposed to the idea that MJ can be black (if her hair ain't red you lost me), just seems weird that they are keeping this super secrety.

Technically Zendaya is bi-racial (although she identifies as African American). Oh and:

She looks pretty good with red hair.
