This leads him into trouble though when a group of hitmen from the past head out to reclaim the diamonds and stop Cook in the process. Cook wants to give the diamonds to his girlfriend, Claire Thrush, but Nightwing helps out, suggesting another tactic. However, when Nightwing’s proposed plan goes awry and Dick ends up sleeping with Claire, things get tense between the two as the Sailor believes Nightwing is working for the hitmen and calls up his friends in ARGUS to take him out. And they, believing Nightwing has turned rogue, send a makeshift Suicide Squad to Blüdhaven to bring him down! Can Nightwing make up for his mistake by solving his multiple problems that he now has, whilst keeping the diamonds from falling into the hands of his new ally, Samuel Thorne?

The secret identity of “Dr. Fate” was Kent Nelson, an ethical conservative politician nicknamed “the Lord of Order.” Since his death, a fascist group called the Northfire Party has sprung up and perverted Nelson's ideology. Their latest offense: Northfire pushed for the unlawful arrest of Jason Blood, secretly the demon Etrigan. The League cannot abandon one of their own to unjust persecution! Or can they? Swamp Thing cares little for human politics, Amythst is a head of State herself and needs to avoid taking a formal stance, and Kratos, being a Spartan, approves of repressive State power. That means it's up to the other members of the League to take action. Zatanna and Zealot must prevent whatever dangerous mystical items may be present in Blood's seized home and tour bus from falling into the hands of the Northfire Party. Meanwhile, Lobo and Azrael take a more direct approach and aim to spring Blood from custody at the courthouse during his arraignment. Easier said then done, as Lobo finds himself confronted by the symbiote-wearing special ops team Wetworks, and Azrael must face off against the mysterious Phantasm – all with Northfire-inspired law enforcement agencies trying to put the League down, while the anarchist V plans to blow up the court! She catches some of their names Magilla, Gleek, Blip, Mojo Jojo, Grape Ape and one just called Monkey. The leader of this beastial cabal cannot be seen, but his deep, ominous voice pierces her soul. Then like an uncontrollable force of nature he arrives. The dark voice calls him Hong Kong Phooey, but what he is is an anthropomorphic dog who knows martial arts and jokes. His style is kinda like the most comedic drunken master Jackie Chan, but alot worse. However, luck seems to be on his side as everything seems to go his way and he's winning. That is until he's sees her....Carrie Kelley. On her world she was the Robin to the Batman, but on this world...well she's not in Gotham any more. Hong Kong Phooey doesn't reveal Carrie's hidden location, instead takes a massive beatdown by the apes. He only has time to press a small communicator which is directly linked to a satellite emitting a Trouble Alert. As for Carrie a mysterious young man name Quest offers her safety, with one phrase "Come with me if you want to live!"
