Making every female character have huge DD breasts depends entirely on the artist
That can be a big problem preventing some people from taking characters seriously when they all basically have the same body type by default
Now of course artists like ed benes aren't the default anymore but problems like these are usually down to the artist
Too much cheesecake art basically reduces a book to cheesecake and all the stereotypes that entails

Power Girl should keep her costume since its so iconic for her but DC shouldn't be put off from changes like they did at the start of the new 52

Jessica Drew would like to have some words with you. And someone else already pointed out the butt window Harley had.

And it wasn't that bad. It didnt show off anything more than a pair of low-riding jeans would. And if you think that's bad.....you should stay away from her comic. It wouldnt fit your sensibilities. (not directed at batnbreakfast, but whoever it was who expressed surprise and disgust over the linked pic, I forgot to quote him/her)

I like Harley to look like a gymnast. Thinner than average, fairly flat chested, not much of an ass or curves, but thighs that can crush a man's skull. Not my preferred body type but one I think is fitting for her character.

Top Cow artist Stephan Stejic (Artifacts, Witchblade, tons of stuff) did a re-design of her that, I think, worked perfectly, as far as the boob window goes.

I think it would look better without the red leggings, but everything else is great! Especially the asymmetrical features. Also love the belt with the "P" logo, since it gives her a connection to Superman without ripping off Supergirl.

After three pages and 29 votes, you say this. I know how frustrating it must be for people can't get ideas to be put in the shade by people who get them, but the best thing is not to call attention to yourself.

Bait threads often get the most posts. Quantity=/= quality. Especially when half the posts are people complaining about or mocking the thread and the other half are things that have been repeated a million times.

Also a lopsided poll is generally considered proof the issue wasn't worth discussing.
If you want to spout your thoughts go make a blog.

Edit: I probably wouldn't be so grumpy if we hadn't JUST had a shit show thread on the exact same topic moved off the board. But we did and this serves nothing except to try and keep it going. And guess what, that thread had 15 pages and I doubt anyone involved feels like it was a quality thread.

Yeah. I thought the statue was fake the first time I came across it. Then I saw the story being covered in other places. I don't know what the sculptor was thinking. Probably a real loon.

But it does show what would happen if the over the top female drawings was given to the male characters. I'd probably avoid comics like the plague. Although the big two companies have done a pretty good job of making me do that.

A few years ago at CBR the first 3 or 4 pages of a forum were from that day. And you want there to be less activity???

Geez, I just avoid the threads that don't interest me. Like the gazillion character appreciation threads. Or whatever the hell "where is del-star" is since I never heard of del star and don't care. I clicked on this simply because 20 years ago when I was a kid the chest of steel was a favorite. *shrugs*

Thirty-four votes now! The status quo is doing so well in the voting that I don't think Karen will need to take unfair advantage and "lean into" the tape at the finish line to win.

She's fine the way she is, why is this a thread?

If it means less political fighting threads yes. Good threads get buried by these bait/prove a point threads. And the aggression/discussions spill over into other threads (a great example of this is a comment in the "DC is losing artists" thread).

I'm sure these types of threads scare off a lot of potential members too.

As of now there are 29 votes to keep it the same size, four to make it bigger and three to make it smaller. That's a decisive victory for the status quo.

If you liked his work you should check out his Deviantart page. He goes by something like Nebezel over there. He's got a lot of work from Top Cow, his creator owned stuff, and tons of random doodles and warm-up sketches (the stuff he does in an hour is better than stuff that would have taken me a full day back when I was doing graphic design. I hate him so much!). The man is insane, easily one of the best artists in the entire industry (I'd argue he's Top 10 at least) and his facial expressions and body language are far better than most people who work in that particular "Top Cow" style. He's also got at least two different color versions of this Power Girl sketch too, one of which might appeal to your sensibilities more, as well as new designs for all kinds of DC characters from Superman to Sinestro and Kyle Rayner, Cyborg, Raven...lots of jokes and funny stuff....worth a look if you have a moment.

And past all that, as I understand it he's not a big fan of needless T&A. Or at the least he's a big proponent of women getting treated right and not as just window dressing (though I dont wanna put words in the dude's mouth). As you can see with his Power Girl. The boob window, which is ridiculous no matter how you slice it, becomes a bit of cleavage and solves the problem without drastic changes to her design aesthetic or making her unrecognizable. As I understand it, he did this as a thought exercise. He did this while screwing around, and DC can't get new designs that are half as good from their paid artists. Says a lot.
