Deadpool is the new raimi spider-man of marvel's new generation. Not surprising.

Is this adjusted for inflation? But it's still pretty shocking considering R rated movies have been marginalized as "unprofitable" for decades now. Not sure how that happened because R rated movies were really big until they stopped making them. But deadpool isn't even a well known character and the concept does seem niche.

No. Things like this are measured in total dollars of what the previous films made at the time.

Deadpool is sitting at $708 million world wide.

    That puts it above
    Iron Man 1 and 2
    MOS
    Thor and Thor TDW
    Ant-Man
    Captain America TFA
Every X-Men film except Days of Future Past
    The Incredible Hulk

If Deadpool continues on this trend, it'll overtake Captain America TWS too.

It'll probably reach DKR numbers in 3 or more years based on that trend.

Nope but Deadpool has just entered the top 200 highest grossing films in the US when adjusted for inflation list at 193 (http://www.boxofficemojo.com/alltime/adjusted.htm) which is damn impressive.

Deadpool will overtake The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in a few days also. Deadpool has already beaten TASM 1 and 2 domestically.

And so we can expect "DEADPOOL 2" too be on the fast-track for production ASAP, they gotta strike it up while this hot phenomena is still alive and kicking, but I think the next film will be even better than the first, with even more R-rated action and newer characters like X-FORCE with CABLE etc., the Devil is just in the details now, and this Red-Devil is riding-out for sure with more too come with it, this has really opened the proverbial floodgates for the coming R-rated releases that are sure too follow from the SuperHero Cinematic Film Production Studios.

Once again, bravo to all those involved in Deadpool's success. I had one hell of a time watching the movie in the theatres and I am glad it is doing awesome. I sincerely hope they pick someone awesome to play Cable.

Hopefully, with this and Fant4stic's failure, Fox will realise that people like when comicbook films are done faithfully to the characters.

I wonder how the X-Men will be after Apocalypse...

This is proof that Fox fucked up by having Singer being in charge of the Xmen all these years. That man literally ruined one of the most popular comic book properties/heroes of all time. So sad.

Here's hoping Fox sees the error of their ways and starts making comic book "X" movies that aren't ashamed to be comic book "X" movies.

Ruined how exactly? DoFP was a critical and financial success. How exactly was it ruined. Batman and Robin now that's ruining a franchise, DoFP hardly.

    Really?

ALL the X-Men movies were quite successful, with the latest one, "Days of Future Past", the most financially successful one!
