So having seen the cover for the new No.1 I think we have to accept thart barring the Captain Marvel film bombing to a ridulous degree the Avengers now have not only a big 4, but a big 5. So I thought I'd try and do something that played to where editorial seems to be leading and see if I could make something I'd enjoy reading.

So the Avengers Trinity plus Black Panther and Captain Marvel are there, I think that's inevitable for the foreseeable future. But if we're going to have a big 5 then I think we should go the whole hog and have a big 7.

So my additions to the perma core are: Wasp (Janet), she named the team and I'd argue she was as close to Marvel's Batman as circumstances at the time allowed her to be. She was a highly driven heiress who when orphaned used her untrained deductive skills to find the nearest superhero that could give her the powers to take her revenge and talked them into doing so.

Since then she's surrounded herself with 616's absolute crème de la crème of every possible field from personal combat, to tactics, to engineering, various sciences, even occult matters and soaked up all she can all the while remaining the affable non nosey team-mate. She's lead the team and Cap conceded she was a natural at it. I can't see a big 7 without her.

Hank will be around but in a more West Coast Avengers non costumed Tech- supervisor role running a team of people like Walter Newell and Fabian Stankowicz in he support staff.

The next is tougher, once upon a time it would've been Wanda without question, but she's lost cache on a couple of fronts and the woman I think has picked them up is Rogue. She's an exempliary Avenger, a former team leader, a reformed villain, and a mutant that found herself away from the X-Sphere. She's also well known and represented throughout multiple media, and presently has a duo book. All important aspects to represent in an honourary founder

Then outside of that core we have Cloak and Dagger taking the Justice and Firestar “They've deserved this forever now they get it” role I hoped they would have rolling out of Civil War I. We'd be exploring their powers, Cloak's teleportation is obviously the biggest, but far from the only thing he'll be bringing to the team. While we'll be expanding Tandy's lifeforce powers beyond just cleansing people of addictions to a wider range of healing abilities useful in both combat and rescue situations. Plus they too have synergy on their side with their TV series.

Finally Swift Cloud is the fish out of water I think a long standing team book needs. She's by now a veteran agent of A.R.M.O.R but still remains a fish out of water and a woman out of time in a way Cap can no longer really embody. That will point of bonding for the two. She largely serves however as a speedster they can be sure won't turn evil.
