I think I would use the line up of Earth's Mightiest Heroes as a base for my personal dream roster
Iron Man (Tony)
Captain America (Steve)
Black Widow (Natasha)
Captain Marvel (Carol)
Black Panther (T'Challa)
Wasp (Janet)
Ant-Man (Hank)
Hawkeye (Kate)
Nova (Richard)
Doctor Strange
Ms Marvel (Kamala)
Voyager
--ULTIMATE AVENGERS--
So, arriving to this thread late, and definitely doing a rehash of some ideas by the sound of it, but here we go. The basic premise for this team is that much of the current Aaron line-up and Avengers staples (namely Steve, Tony, Carol, Thor) have been lost / abducted / are otherwise absent due to some multiverse related problems, and this group forms from various legacy characters as well as less featured characters in the Marvel Universe to fill that void and potentially solve that mystery and bring the Avengers home. The main idea would be sitting the staple Avengers out for a year to just give some more obscure or younger heroes a time to shine. There's also a vague theming of basing the characters off the Justice League here. The one exception is Robbie Reyes, who sticks around, having returned with Deathlok from his own forays into the Multiverse. I also separated the rosters into Part 1 and Part 2 as some characters would be lost in the multiverse just as the OG Avengers were. The name is derived from the fact that the Big Three here are of course from the Ultimates team.

Some of the basis here are very loose but they are as follows:
SUPERMAN - Blue Marvel (Adam Brashear)
WONDER WOMAN - Spectrum (Monica Rambeau)
BATMAN - Black Panther (T'Challa)
AQUAMAN - Namor of Tlalocan / Koi Boy (Ken Shiga)
THE FLASH - Quicksilver (Pietro Maximoff)
GREEN LANTERN - Nova (Sam Alexander) / Captain Britain (Betsy Braddock)
MARTIAN MANHUNTER - Hulkling (Theodore "Teddy" Kaplan-Altman)
HAWKGIRL - Angela Odinsdottir
BLACK CANARY - Songbird (Melissa Gold) / Pope (Ahura Amaquelin-Boltagon)
GREEN ARROW - Solo (James Bourne) / Hawkeye (Kate Bishop)
CYBORG - Deathlok (Michael Collins) [Earth-818]
+ Ghost Rider (Robbie Reyes)
Monica is probably the weakest basis here, mainly just being the WW by virtue of the fact Adam and T'Challa work well as Supes and Bats in this new trinity. Also Ahura would be expanded as a character here to fit his basis. He's been shown in the past to be able to do his dad's scream, and I'd expand on why that is here. Also Teddy would be serving on the Ultimate Avengers while Billy would be doing X-Men stuff, ideally.

I always enjoyed how Morrison brought the JLA together as a Pantheon, and I've always wondered what Marvel's version of a Pantheon would look like.
Zeus - Thor
Hera - Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers)
Ares - Cyclops (Scott Summers)
Hephaestus - Iron Man (Tony Stark)
Poseidon - Namor
Hades - Black Bolt
Hermes - Nova (Richard Rider)
Apollo - Quasar (Wendell Vaughn)
Athena - Photon (Monica Rambeau)
Artemis - Moonstar (Danielle Moonstar)
Aphrodite - Scarlet Witch (Wanda Maximoff)
Hestia - Storm (Ororo Munroe)
Demeter - Polaris (Lorna Dane)
Persephone - Blink (Clarice Ferguson)
Dionysus - Spider Man (Peter Parker)
Hercules - Hercules
The old G.I. JOE cartoon back in the 80s sometimes had 5-part episodes where the Joes had to split their forces to various sites around the world (retrieving components to some super-weapon, or attacking various Cobra bases, etc) and it gave them a chance to showcase different Joes who were specialized for certain locales. It would be fun to see a story that ended up doing that with the Avengers.
For example, the underwater squad:
Sub-Mariner
Stingray
Marrina
Sersi (in a couple of past stories she gave herself gills to function underwater)
The jungle squad:
Black Panther
Tigra
Beast
Silverclaw
Mantis (her psionic link with plants would be an asset in a jungle region, and she has the agility to keep up with the others).
Space team:
Spectrum
Quasar
Captain Marvel
Starfox
There's quite a few possible candidates for the space team, really.
Arctic team:
Iron Man (he can adapt his armour to be suited to basically any of these regions--so why not this one)
Crystal (her elemental powers will be a great asset in that region with all the cold and ice)
Vision (will not be fazed by the cold)
Living Lightning
Desert team:
Hawkeye (he's got some experience from his days playing cowboy with the Two-Gun Kid)
Firebird
Sandman (if he's back to being a hero, he'd be an obvious asset on a desert mission)
The 13 Avengers Initiative
1. The Great Panther
2. The Wise Panther
3. Madame Masque
4. Iron Boy
5. Arachne
6. Lockheed
7. Captain Savage
8. Gorilla Man
9. The Human Robot
10. The Uranian
11. The Crusader
12. The Texas Twister
13. Smiling Tiger
The Smiling Tiger? He’Grrreaaaaat!!!
The Insane Avengers
The Sentry
Moon Knight
Ghost Rider (Johnny Blaze)
Ares, the God of War
Venom (Eddie Brock)
Deadpool
No chance to exist in this day and age due to the team consisting out of 6 straight white males, but it would be super fun. You have these 6 anti-heroes with some of them having some serious mental issues. They want to do the right thing, but have unconventional methods and don't shy away from ripping their enemies in half.

The Ultimate Avengers, a team capable of handling interdimensional and cosmic-level threats
Ultron, fresh out of Ewing's Ant-Man miniseries, emerges from the cosmos (or whatever the **** happened there) to begin his war of conquest against the Solar System! Black Panther and Wasp assemble a team to take the mechanical menace down and separate Hank Pym from Ultron, but when Ultron attacks Arakko, T'Challa is forced to reconcile with Storm to save the world.
Black Panther
Wasp
Captain Britain (Brian Braddock)
Storm
Nova (Richard Rider)
Spectrum
Scarlet Witch
Vision
Yes, it's an explosive space opera, but it's also a story about reconciliation and reconnection.
