There was a Cosmic Avengers group! If you haven't read Avengers:Infinity by Stern, you need to - it's fantastic. In fact my team was pretty much the Infinity team, but I had to stop putting all of them in it . . .

Just a warning, Starfox is on the team. Though if you dislike him because you think he's too cutesy, he does have a moment at the very end that you might think is interesting.

Jim Hammond, Venus, Stature, Force, Silverclaw, Aurora and Xavin. They'd be the West Coast Avengers.

    THE ILLUMINATI:

After re-reading Hickman's Shield I think that a new version of the "greatest men" would be a really great book. The theme would be like the first Illuminati stories, focused more on whether these men are fit to hold that kind of power and how they'd use it in order to help earth achieve its full potential and stand against great empires. The roster would be 13 people, since there are a lot of conspiracy theories about the 13 bloodlines of the Illuminati:

1)Leonardo Da Vinci-The Master Builder, the Greatest Leader!
2)Moon Knight-I'd make it so it was every Avatar of Khonshu's duty to protect the Immortal City and the Brotherhood, seeing as a MK was there with Imhotep.
    3)Doc Strange-Sorcerer Supreme, duh!
4)Cap Britain-Protector of the Omniverse, nuff said.
5)Fantomex-Think about it, the guy is the "perfect human", I doubt that the surviving members of the Brotherhood didn't have a hand in creating the World.
    6)Black Panther
    7)Iron Man
    8)Fury Sr.
    9)Zemo
    10)Namor
    11)Black Bolt
    12)Doc Doom
13)Kang-a futuristis Richards. Plus, it'd be great to finally explore his ancestors.

With Tesla and the Star-Child in supporting roles.

For instance, I've always liked the premise of the Zodiac, but there's like what, at least four different versions? Count Nefaria could be great but he doesn't seem to have much motivation or nuance beyond being evil Superman. I thought the best Lethal Legion story was that West Coast Avengers/Vision Scarlet Witch story. I had an idea for an Ultimized revamp of LL, but I guess that ship has sailed. I think a lot more could be done with the Space Phantom people. Maybe cuz the Skrulls have similar powers, folks find them redundant.

I might be in the minority, but I like the idea of the Hood's gang. Despite how I feel about the comics, I like the idea that they're basically an army of two-bit thugs that Hood is trying to get to think more ambitiously. I like the idea of them being a little seedy underworld society. Like they're not always at the master villain's secret high tech lair, most of the time they plan bank jobs in bars and crappy diners and what not.
    Umm wrong thread

    Avengers:

    Main Roster:
    Captain America
    Iron Man
    Wonder Man
    She-Hulk
    Scarlet Witch
    Hank Pym (in some form)
    Wasp
    Thor
    Hawkeye

Nine characters seems like a massive roster to me, so I'll just stop there. Falcon, Quicksilver, Vision, and Ms Marvel get honorable mentions.
    I co-host a podcast about comics. Mostly it's X-Men comics of the 90's.

    Billy and Dan Read Comics!

    ILLUMINATI:
I'd remove Namor as I think I like him best a member of the Cabal.
Beast doesn't make any sense on the Illuminati. They should actually be trying to fix all the damage he did to the timestream when he brought the O5 to the present. In his place I'd put Emma Frost. It's about time a woman joined this team. She is one of mutantkind's most powerful and influent people and she has the right skills and midset for the job.
So my six members (and their infinity gems, should they get them back) are:

    1.Reed Richards: time gem
    2.Tony Stark: reality gem
    3.Black Bolt: power gem
    4.Black Panther: space gem
    5.Emma Frost: mind gem
    6.Doctor Strange: soul gem

Not really. Its explained why Beast is the choice, i.e who Charles felt like he could "trust" (or what have you)
Its not just about who is the most powerful, its about the "in" group making all the decisions and how wrong that is.

My priority is enjoying and supporting stories of timeless heroism and conflict.
    Everything else is irrelevant.

The reason Emma wasn't used was that Bendis had dibs on her. Beast should have been taken out of the team the minute they found out about the O5 mess. If that ever happened, she'd be the perfect candidate to join, IMO.
