Been thinking about how I'd prefer a 'unity team' to look over the last couple of days, so, here it is:

Captain Marvel - Co-Leader: Long-time Avenger, proven leadership qualities, comfortingly public identity, more than strong enough to be the team's resident 'brick', oh yeah and she's my favourite solo hero. Look, it's a biased roster, I make no bones of this.
Storm - Co-Leader: I find I like Ororo more in theory than in practice; she sounds like an awesome character but most of her appearances don't measure up to the impression I get of her in my head. Nevertheless, she's one of the biggest guns in the non-outlaw X-Men and has the experience and grandstanding persona to lead on the field. Honestly, her and Carol alone could probably get the job done against most threats by themselves, but I gotta pad the roster out further.

The Vision: Robots deserve representation just as much as mutants! Plus Vision's a classic Avenger with plenty of ties to the team, yet he's not such a big name that he overshadows the rest of the team the way I find Cap. America or Iron Man sometimes do. Extremely versatile powers and skills, also.
Rogue: One of the less necessary picks, if I'm honest, but it gives us a little continuity with the current Uncanny Avengers squad, and if Rogue's willing to join one unity squad, why not another? Plus of course the devil in me wants to put her and Carol on the same team and see how awkward it gets, even if Carol's post-Enemy Within brain snafu makes her more at peace over their history.
Nightcrawler: And to counterbalance that awkwardness, it's the one X-Man who can make friends with anyone. His BAMFing makes him a good forward scout, but really I just want Kurt being Kurt to make the talky scenes sparkle. Plus it adds a non-human looking mutant to the line-up, which I feel was an unfortunate lack in Uncanny A.
Domino: Like I said, it's a biased roster. Plus, I do believe every team needs a low/no-powers spy/ninja/assassin type, and there's nothing Black Widow could do here that Neena can't do just as well. Also potentially another firecracker in the talky scenes, assuming she's the same fast-mouthed sleazy wild-child Kyle & Yost turned her into.
Ms. Marvel: Ideally I'd like Kamala to 'graduate' from a brief spell in another, smaller team before making her 'big leagues' debut here, but she should still be recognizably Kamala, and be so super excited to get a little ID card with a big 'A' on it that she won't stop shrieking and bouncing around. Also adds an Inhuman to the team. Also adds EMBIGGENING~ and hopefully some drama where Carol's kinda over-protective and keeps reflexively trying to keep Kamala out of the hot spots.
Ghost Rider (Robbie Reyes): It's still surprising to me that the AVENGErs have never had a spirit of VENGEance on the roll-call. This seems as fine a time as any to change that. Robbie being fairly young and still new to his powers ought to give him a natural rapport with Ms. Marvel, and while I admittedly have fallen behind in reading his solo series and so don't know what the status quo is between Robbie and Eli (his bonded spirit), there's always one 'ticking time bomb' team member and that works best when it's actually a really nice bloke at heart who just can't help but be dangerous. Plus the G.R. being a mystic/spiritual entity gives the team a big gun against magical threats (no calling Dr. Strange on his days off) and wouldn't it just rule to have him deploy by driving his flaming car out the back of a Quinjet in midair?
Forge: The IT guy. Hey, he's not doing anything else right now, every Avengers team goes through millions of dollars of equipment which presumably someone has to keep working, and I like him.

It's a pretty solid, varied team, and not one white man among them. Unless you count Vision previously being Jim Hammond or something.

It's a good "street level" team. Tweak it a bit and it'd make a great Heroes for Hire, IMO.

    Commander Steve Rogers
    Quicksilver
    Rogue
    Nova (Richard Rider)
    Hawkeye (Kate Bishop)
    Namor

It may seem like a random lineup, but trust me, I think a team like this could be really really cool. I think about stuff like this all the time, haha.

    Captain America( steve)
    Ironman
    Wasp
Spiderwoman( Julia- Blind but with more enough pre cog and clarivoyance to compensate. Also telepathic)
    Hercules
    Wonderman
    Beast
    Firebird
    Quicksilver
    Finesse
    Striker
    Aurora
Doctor Spectrum( Squadron Supreme original version)
    Ms. Marvel
    Sun Girl

I think interactions between Quicksilver and Aurora would be interesting and He'd have a least one Good Friend in Finesse. I think Having a practicing christain and a practicing muslim on the roster would add some diversity( Firebird and Ms. Marvel. Both seem to be pretty cool characters. Adding Doc Spectrum as a Green Lantern surrogate. always liked his constracts. If I were writing him, Striker would be hetero. No objection to lbgt characters, I just found him very entertaininf as a skirt chasing jerk. If it were up to me, He and Finesse would be a couple.... on and off again very Sam and Diane or Dave and Maddy

cool fun post.. hmmm let me see.. first i believe Avengers must be able to work well with each other and fight against forces of evil, so Im not sure if I'm going to add any villains on my roster.

An avengers team must be lead by a hero in every sense of the word so no one else better comes to mind except for
    Captain America.
Thor as his right hand, i mean right hammer. and Gladiator and Hulk to deal the heavy heavy punches.
Doctor Strange and Magik would work well together and can help teleport and deal with demons and other sorcerers.
I'd also choose Professor X with his TRUE right hand man WOLVERINE.. (stupid marvel killing wolverine)
Proffessor X to handle all types of psychics and Wolverine to do what he does best.
    and GALACTUS!!! mwuauauuaajhahha

If I was in charge of the Avengers I'd just merge all of the A teams into one book. No more secret Illuminati and no more Secret Avengers. Instead, a Hickman-esque team (around 15 people) which would be broken down into "groups". The thinkers, the powerhouses and the soldiers, and they would all work together. That way all A villains are available and tbh, I mush prefer a book passing the 100th issues, rather than having 5 titles not make it past 20. Anyway, here's my roster (at the star of NOW! with some changes):

    1)Iron Man
    2)Cap
3)Superior Spider-Man (evil guy trying to be a good guy is still better than devil dealing man-child)
    4)Thor (Odinson)
    5)Wolverine (with HF)
    6)Scarlet Witch
    7)Doc Strange
    8)Cap Britain
    9)Black Panther
    10)Hawkeye
    11)Black Widow
12)Deadpool (after the Good, the Bad and the Ugly Wade should have gotten an A ID card)
    13)Hulk
    14)Yellowjacket
    15)Captain Marvel (Carol)
    16)Angela

Boom! Powerhouses, Thinkers and Soldiers all rolled up into one delicious book.

I hate the name "Young Avengers" but I came up with a new team.

    -Ms. Marvel
    -Kate Bishop
    -(a younger mutant)
    -Loki
    -Dante
    -(an alien/android)

Also a Journey into Mystery team:
    -Loki
    -Magik
    -Iron Fist
    -Naja
    -Doctor Strange
    -Scarlet Witch
