I don't really care who else is in it, but I'd love a line-up featuring Hercules and an unworthy Thor OGinson. The current line-up is good and I think Jane should stay Thor, I just wish the OGinson wasn't relegated to pretty much nothing.

Cap
Falcon
Antman( Scott)
Prof Hulk
Captain Marvel
Namor
Nightcrawler & Scarlet Witch
I feel like the best approach should be to have a classic line-up and then add new characters to it? I feel like the X-Men had the best approach to that for many years. Like they kept Colossus, Kurt, Logan, Storm and then they would add Rogue and Rachel. And then Longshot and Psylocke, etc....
I thought the roster from Jeff Parker's Avengers book was pretty awesome.

Have always love Vis and Wanda. Loved the books they had together. Loved the Marriage. It is hard for me to reconcile how Vision ever gets hit given his powers and synthzoid nature or figurejust what exactly a villain is supposed a against Vision unless one has a a Synthzoid brain brain scrambler or one of those guns that can hit even intangible targets and Wanda's powers have always been a little confounding to me. I guess the way I'd spin her is by saying that her mutant nature attracted mystical forces and makes them want to work through her. Also included Speed as I would like to see a famial angle explored with these three and also with Simon. The rest are just cool heroes that would interact in an entertaining way, fulfill certain niches and fight bad guys.
Current ruminations of ideal Avengers team:
1. Mockingbird (leader)
2. Quicksilver
3. Tigra
4. Black Knight
5. Doctor Voodoo
6. Hercules
7. Shang Chi
8. Madame Web
Cap- Non hydra
Ironman- Tony
Wasp- Jan
Quicksilver- Loveable speedster jerk- Mutant- Magneto's son.
Prof Hulk- Bruce at the steering wheel, pretty stable these days.
Ben Grimm-Always liked the bulky aysymmetrical look from the Eighties
Jean Grey- Powerful telepath and telekinetic abilities. Not powerful enough to up and destroy the planet cause she stubbed her toe on the furniture or turn off somebody's brain like a light switch. Not completely out of surprises especially when mixing it up with another Telpath, psionis or magic user. I guess she could doo some pre cog too. That always goes well.
Doc Strange- Pretty much what I said about Jean except He's a magic user
Sunfire
Moonstone
And lets add Black Widow.. Edit post never works for me on this site anymore. Look at the way I spell Telepath and Psionic. What a dumbass.
Dream West Coast Avengers (Clint is given an opportunity to lead an Avengers team, on the West Coast. Shocked and chagrined to discover that the CSA did most of the recruiting w/o his input)
1. Hawkeye (Clint Barton)
Note: same old Clint – and I mean that in every sense – my version isn’t Secret Avengers material and is genuinely anti-authority – more like the Clint that led the Thunderbolts
2. Mockingbird (Bobbi Morse)
Note: Clint’s ex – handles the press and CSA briefings
3. U.S. Agent (John Walker)
Note: on the team due to government interference – biggest challenge to Clint’s leadership – definitely has an agenda on his own – otherwise, a staunch conservative man of integrity & patriot
4. Ionic Man (Esai “Sy” Williams)
Note: my ideal version went from soldier to stunt performer and, finally, movie action hero – oh and he’s Hispanic but not drastically different in appearance – keeping the bromance with Hank McCoy and the general personality - but this version is a little more self-promotional
5. She-Hulk (Jennifer Walters)
Note: classic She-Hulk – not gray and scarred – carefree mediator of the team
6. Living Lightning (Michael Santos)
Note: according to his mom, he’s the son of Raijin; shinto god of lightning. But it was a one-night stand and she was a club kid; so take it with a grain of salt. Struggling to balance college enrollment and Avengering – consummate practical joker - usually hangs around Will's lab because of the game display
7. Arachne (Julia Carpenter)
Note: most reluctant/secretive member of the team – while everyone’s looking at US Agent she’s answering directly to the CSA; sometimes doing solo missions – they are using her kid as leverage
--------
Supporting/Recurring Character(s):
Iron Man/Tony Stark (provides the headquarters, some of the funding, and (unbeknownst to the CSA) sometimes sets the mission
Will Foster (time displaced biotechnologist/budding particle physicist from the 70s who maintains the team's more exotic weaponry/sometimes size-changing superhero – bit of an x-factor because the CSA doesn’t have much info on him)
Captain America
Doctor Doom
Captain Marvel (Carol)
Moonstone
Invisible Woman
Black Knight
Ghost Rider
Werewolf By Night
Wasp- Jan
Yellowjacket
Ironman- Tony, a normal human except for his intellect.
