Why yes, this is an unusual team. Those are the most interesting, I think. Carol, Wanda and Sam all have long associations with the Avengers, so they link the team to the past. Forge is the tech expert, wanting to get away from the X-Men for a while. Singularity, having a variety of male and female role models around, would get to explore gender in more depth, and get to be gender fluid. Sera as a magical expert beyond even Wanda's level, and also just wanting to have some fun for a while. And being curious about Singularity.

And then Cyclops. The adult version. I had the idea of the Avengers finding Scott, maybe captive somewhere, or maybe just living his own life up in Alaska. Either way, he'd get involved in one of their missions, and he'd stick around, and he and Wanda would become good friends, bonding over how screwed up their lives are. Both have family trees that are convoluted and involve time travel. Both were possessed by power they couldn't control and, as a result, did something horrible. And even though they both know it wasn't really their fault, neither can actually shake off the sense of guilt. So Scott and Wanda would become friends, maybe even romantically involved. Exploding the heads of everyone else both in- and out-of-universe. (The one character who wouldn't be shocked: Jean. She'd just say, "Huh, yeah, OK, I can see it. They might be really good for each other. I wish them the best.")
That's interesting. I agree plenty of people in and out would be shocked or upset at that turn of events. I really do want Cyclops back, and he doesn't have to lead the team if it means he can return. However, I'd take Sam as the leader over Carol.

    3. Shadow (Kitty Pride)

I think this would be an interesting line-up, never happen though.
You do realise that the Uncanny Avengers have always been led by a mutant, right? First Havok, then Rogue? Another team consisting of mutants and normals wouldn't be a counter, it'd be more of the same. The U.S.Avengers are that too, with Sunspot leading and Cannonball also on the team. The Champions are as well, with an Inhuman leader and Cyclops in the roster, with the other four being legacy heroes to three Avengers and a New Warrior.

He's already back. He was revived in Contest of Champions and surprised Squirrel Girl, who thought he was dead, in U.S.Avengers during Secret Empire. He's now a member of the Champions of Europe, so named because they're a European based team of survivors (Ares, Outlaw, and Guillotine) from the Contest of Champions, though they've expanded their lineup by adding Captain Britain, Peregrine, and Excalibur (Faiza Hussain).

I didn't know that, that's pretty cool. In that case, I'd have Wasp as the leader.

Slight correction time......Julie, who's currently known as Lightspeed, was also known as Molecula (, Mistress of Density) when she ended up with Jack's density powers. Also, it's Katie who first ended up with Julie's velocity powers and was known as Starstreak (and during the 2000 POWER PACK Miniseries, Julie was calling herself that particular code-name; since she was the one who suggested that to Katie within PP #27). Although Katie did also ended up with the gravity powers and became the second Counterweight (Jack was the first).

Other than that.....some very good choicesthat Fokken made there.

    Uncanny Avengers

    Captain Marvel
    Beast
    Wonder Man
    Scarlet Witch
    Storm
    Wolverine
    Psylocke

All this characters have interacted in the past and I can actually buy them all choosing to hang out together.

And the Avengers rarely ever have a psi on the roster.
