Sorry Barry fans, but Wally has been handled so spectacularly badly since 2009 in every conceivable way that it's time for some compensation. If Barry being the main comics Flash and the go-to Flash for merchandise, TV shows, animated/live action films, etc. isn't good enough for them, that's their problem!

Exactly, the potential is definitely there.

Yeah, I'll wait and see it first though before getting all depressed.

He kind of is, I wouldn't really make that comparison, and I don't want the Flash joking all over the place. DCAU Wally can stay there.

I've never been a big Flash fan, but could part of the problem with WB taking liberties in casting Barry is that aside from being a nice, relatively normal guy, has he ever really been well defined? Johns threw in a tragic origin, but that doesn't really say anything about the man he is now does it? I feel like if the character were better defined, there'd be more of a need to cast someone closer to the comic book version, physically. Just a thought...

Waid did the best job bringing him more to life from the Silver Age IMO. "JLA: Year One" and "Brave and the Bold" were pretty spot on in capturing everything he was always described to be. Aloof, methodical, kind hearted, always late, but also fairly serious and no-nonsense, although not mean or angry in any way. Mature is the word I guess. Johns threw a whole big wrench in that of course.
