Default Are there any Classic Fantastic Four like comics?

That basically try to emulate it. There has to be?

Classic, but the other way around, in that F4 by way of Kirby somewhat emulated it.

May I ask why you're interested in something that's basically just a copy of something else?

I came here just to post this.

I own the Kirby hardcover. It is a fun read, but very dated. Would only recommend if you are into such a thing.

Because I'm done reading it and FF likely imitated something else anyway.

I own it, but I have not read it yet.
Most golden age comics ARE dated.
But they can still be a fun read. In fact, most are.

Surely such a concept as the FF must be unique! After all, a scientist, his best friend along with the scientist's GF and her younger brother?

    Oh, wait...

Both of these come after Challengers, but still before FF 1. I point these out because of the team setups for these two series which is way too close.

John Byrne created F4 pastiches a few times, but they never lasted more than a handful of issues.

There was a parody comic called the Quantum Quartet, which was, believe it or not, a "Married with Children" spin-off.

Also an episode of Batman Beyond featuring a "Terrific Trio", which was pretty good.

You might not like Planetary. I was an Ellis fan back then and I hated it. Waaaay too many wink wink nudge nudges at the audience. Had my eyes rolling. I'd rather read Astro City if I wanted that. I liked the FF analogues in AC.

Tri♥ was too heavy to read. I think his writing's gone way too dark the past few years. But I LOVED how it was printed on matte stock. Please, John Byrne, make another series on matte stock. Gloss sucks for comics.

Thank you all, most kindly for the recommendations.
